  • New tradeskiller saying hello

    Hi Everybody,

I play on Stromm & Prexus and have had a strong interest in tradeskills. I've been playing EQ for about a year. Main is a 51 Druid with full slots of alts. Of course my intent was always for my druid to be my main tradeskiller (seemed to make sense) but haven't really got him going yet. My necro & shaman are farther along than my druid!

I guess I like pain because the tradeskills I've started and want to focus on are research, alchemy, smithing & tailoring. Now I just need to farm & make plat to support them! My nec is in the 60's with research and my shaman (greendul, stromm) is working on journeyman status for alchemy (around 180 currently).

I chose these tradeskills to start on since they would be most useful to my characters in day to day life - potions & the ability to research some LDoN spells since I don't seem get into the LDoN's themselves all that often.

I've enjoyed this site and lurking on the forums for awhile. Now that I actually have started tradeskilling and can contribute some I figured it was time to register. So I look forward to seeing everybody around and participating in the community.

Hello and welcome! As one tradeskiller speaking to another, remember that tradeskills take a lot of time and effort to max. Oftentimes you can get really depressed when you do a long, expensive run only to not get a single skillup. But remember those will pass, and for the most part are rare. Always keep in mind that there IS an end to the madness, and once you reach it you'll never have to get it again. Good luck on your endevours!

          Thanks for the welcomes everybody.

Tnexus, you're the one who did all the epics on Prexus, right? Just saw the old thread about that. Nice job!

I started some characters on prexus, main being a 24 ranger. Maybe I'll see you around some time.

Got my alchemy to 191 last night. Going to push for journeyman status and then work on replenishing supplies (plat :> ).

Did a clever thing last night. Took my shaman out to unrest with some friends to get a break from clicking combine. worked on potions between pulls and had a couple of stacks in my shiny new temp journeyman's bag (trophy leveled before I did). Yes I picked up the permanent bag but was experimenting. Of course it was very late when i logged off and....yup...forgot to take them out of the temp bag. Oh well. Lesson learned.

Actually sold some potions in the bazaar as well. That was nice to sell something I crafted. Now I just need to sell a lot more!! LOL

No worries, they have changed that Any temporary type bags just change to a "non-enchanted" version when you log off but they will still be there will all of your stuff intact. The bag will weigh like 25 lbs now but better than the alternative

Whew, i did notice last night when i logged in that i had a huge disenchanted backpack weighing 25 lbs with my potions in it. Yay! thankfully I'm a troll so the weight wasn't an issue. Must watch out for my DE necro though.

And yup, i have the permanent bag. I typically keep one inventory slot free when out in the field. Every now and then a nice bag or container drops.

In this case i needed space so i created a temp bag. And i just wanted to play around.

Oh, hit journeyman's last night. Alchemy at 202!

                thanks all
