  • DoN cultural drops question

Unnecessary background first: I quit EQ1 sometime last year for a variety of reasons. As I'm currently playing EQ2 and looking at the Station Pass, I'm considering returning to EQ1 on a casual basis. Though I still have my old account, I'm probably going to be rerolling on a new server with a new character. My former experiences with cultural smithing resulted in farming Great Reptile Teeth on a mostly-retired druid for my paladin, but I won't have the luxury of letting a high level druid this time around.

So I'm wondering if the itemization for these drops has been fixed yet. It'll affect my racial choice. (On the bright side, both of the classes I'm seriously considering playing aren't cloth casters, so no storm volaas hair or coarse spider silk for me to worry about, when the time comes.)

I know this was something Ngreth wanted to work on "soon", as of a year ago, but I'm not banking on it. No offense meant to the house ogre or his superiors -- things just don't always get to happen on schedule.

Last word from Ngreth was that this is still being looked into. There is no timetable as of yet. Sorry that's not the news you wanted to hear.

The disparity of the drop rate/difficulty of the mobs for the different items used by the different races has not been fixed. Since it may never be fixed best to go with a race that has an easier to obtain item (i.e. Shissar scales or yttrium).

        re-rolling

Make a class/race you will enjoy.. enough kind tradeskillers in-game that will make the armor..The drops are obtainable if you know where to hunt for them on gm armor.
