  • Trophy Question

I am currently at skill level 237 in fletching and I just obtained my Journeyman Fletcher's Trophy. My question is this: I have an Artisan's Seal and a Fish Bone Dart Tool, so should I go ahead and make the Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife?

I guess what I am asking is there any reason why I should NOT go ahead and attempt the final combine for the Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife a bit obsolete, wouldn't you say? I mean you don't really need, but if you want to try for it, I'd see no reason why not.

I dont know...I have been away from EQ for over a year so I am bit confused about all of this...1) can I have both the trophy and the knife? 2) is there any reason to have both?

      Thanks for replying

there is no reason to have both, unless you just want to.

The only reason to make an old style GM tool now is for the (extra) 100% WR bag you can get with it. (Or if you need it to make your trophy ). Like the trophies, if you turn in a temporary bag made by an old style GM tool to Jolum in the bazaar, you will be given a permanent bag that has the same WR as the temporary one.

so then there would be a reason for me to go ahead and make the GM Knife since all I have at the moment is the Journeyman Trophy which only gives a 50% weight reduction bag. If I can successfully make the GM Knife now then I would get the benefits from it now PLUS the benefits from the Journeyman Trophy and eventually when my trophy evolves I will have two essentially.

Next question, are these items LORE to one another? In other words, can I have both the GM Knife and the Journeyman Trophy in my possession at the same time? I noticed that the Journeyman's Trophy says "Lore Group: Fletcher Trophy" say I am curious about that...

If by benefits you mean the stats yeah, if you mean the +% to skill they don't stack, only the highest one takes effect.

As to the Lore factor, they're two different things. The lore listing for the new trophy is most likely just like it is for the bags - lore within its own grouping (so you couldn't get a Journeyman and an Expert trophy at the same time)
