Jade Shards

Looking for a spot a 23 monk can decent drop rate for jade shards and get xp at the same time. I know they are random but if anyone has found a spot where they seemed to drop more, a reply would be most helpful. Thanks.

Mostly find them in Velious but Velious was a level 30+ expansion when it came out. Might be able to solo in Iceclad but no clue if jade shards drop there.

If you look up "disincentive" in the dictionary it says "see Jade Shards."

Jade shards are the reason I gave up on Dwarven Journeyman smithing for my Cleric alt. Not only are the shards extremely rare, they seem to drop from mobs that are higher level than the intended range for Journeymans. Case in point - I took my 70 Necro to Twilight Sea and cleared the elementals island for over four hours, during which time I got ONE jade shard to drop.

To be fair, Twilight Sea may not be the "best" place to farm. But oftentimes it's mentioned as one of the places to farm whenever this topic comes up, so that's where I went. I also tried Great Divide Tizmaks because I vaguely remembered seeing one there, maybe, but none dropped so I'm going to call that a Senior Moment and move on. (Tiz caves are a great place to farm the all of the words for the level 24 Necro pet spell, though.)

It's faster, easier and more satisfying just to level up to where you can do Expert, because the required components actually drop more frequently. If you insist on jade shards, check every vendor you can find. You'll have better luck.

To be fair, Twilight Sea may not be the "best" place to farm.

I once got two shards to drop on one elemental there. I'm superstitious enough to go back there when I'm looking for more, even though obviously it was just pure dumb luck and could have happened in any zone where they drop.

The only time I can recall one dropping for a level-appropriate character was off the gobs in Permafrost. The vast majority of shards I have come across have been on vendors.

I recall getting several stacks of jade shards hunting in Paludal.

Growing up in Cabilis, I remember Jade Shards dropping from giants in the giant fort quite a bit. Back then I wished they were regular Jades. If I'd known then.......

Paludial caverns should also be a good spot since I've found them on vendors in Shadow Haven quite often, especially the vendors near PC

I payed 100-200 plat each for em, have like 10 in bank..

PoR zones seem to drop them good >_>

Ruins place, while i was doing 55 Aura.. had like 3 drop in 8 mob kills..

went to one of the Takish mission things .. had at least 5 drop ..
