  • tinker trophey bug...?

    ok so i did a petition, and while i think i got the dumbest GM EVER he did give a good suggestion. so here is my petition and his reply.





    Any thoughts?

    FYI the trophy is in my ammo slot, which is where it has always been. It has evolved in the past there, so i assume unless they Fed something up thats not it. I REALLY don't want to waste combines on this to experiment with it so i'm not going to be doing anymore untill the guild needs more boxes.

    Lesson for the day.

    GM's generally know absolutely nothing about tradeskills.

      Each 4A has 5 combines with trvial 351, so you had 40 total. My experience has been that 8 combines = 1% to tinkering trophy so you should have expected to get 5% from what you did.

      There are 2 posibilities that I can think of that may have prevented this:
      1) you don't mention what your skill is. If you skill is <251 then your trophy will not gain any experience since it must be within 100 points of your skill unless you are at 300 skill.
      2) your trophy may have been turned off for evolution purposes. Take a look at it while equipped and make sure that the box is green. If it is red then it will not gain any xp. To correct this click the evolving items tab on your inventory screen and adjust the setting.

        My skill is 289. the trophey is 6/7 0% and the box its in is indeed green.

        289 is indeed within 100 of max so unless i missunderstood of what you said, it should be evolving?

        I knew it was 8 combines per %, i'm on pretty good terms with someone on my server with a maxed out trophy and thats what he had told me

          Aha, there's the cause.

          Your trophy has outlevelled you. It's already 6/7, when based purely on your skill, it should be 5/7. The trophy won't gain any more exp until you reach 300 skill; then it will start evolving again.

            Thats horrible

            I have gotten like 2 skill ups from 4A boxes and i have been making them for almost a year.

            Oh well, i guess when my guild hits DPoB in the next month i'll start getting alot more combines as those last blood augs start to flow in like water.

              A side question

              I know that equipment that evolves has a build up time every time you de-equip it then equip it again. Anyone know if this is true for tradeskill trophies as I keep them in the bank when I'm not doing skillups ?

                they should not need a "build up" time

                with my dev tool ON they show exp IMIDIATLY... so it should work (since I hack the EXP on these... and FORCE exp on them... they should not need the warm up since I am circumventing that code)

                So I am 99.9999% sure that the build up period is NOT needed.

                Why don't I say 100%? Because very rarely we have seen that there are different results between a dev account and a play account. With a play account it can be hard to see for sure that you have done enough combines in the 30 second "build up" window to concretely prove that it gains exp during that window. I have made a test as a "play" character and it seemed to get the exp during that "build up" time... so it looks like the build up is NOT needed for these trophies. But as a player... it is more subjective with less "proof" than with the dev tools on. (that said I gained the expected 1% by being really fast!)

                  Brahman ... you oughta start claiming all the steel dropping on your raids, heh.

                  Seals are all over 300 trivial and are pretty good for skilling up They sell back to vendors pretty good too if you don't wanna Bazaar em. No reason to wait on only AAAA subcombines.

                    i'm pretty lazy...



                    we are closing in on DPoB, so its all good.

                    doing about 6 boxes a week atm.

                    last run was 6 boxes, 2 failed subcombines, and that got me one skill up. Once we are DPoB+ i'll be making like 10 - 20 boxes a week. I can stand to wait hehe

                      Could you do this -- get a trophy to be 1 experience point shy of evolving using your Dev powers, and then hand it to a non-dev account? Then if on the very next success, you evolve, you know. Yes?

                        I have a "normal" account (only thing "abnormal" is that it is comped... but that is on the billing side, not anything to do with in the game itself)
                        I tested with this... not to evolution, just that it got enough exp to gain a percentage point.
