In the news post for October 10, Verdandi wrote:
The EQID is the internal number for that item in Everquest. It is part of the URL for an item in EQItems and Lucy, and can also be found with a bit of digging by subscribers of EQ Players and Magelo.

Sounds like it might be helpful for me to point out that you don't even need EQ Players or Magelo. You can also dig the EQIDs out of the file generated via "/outputfile inventory <filename>".

    Oooh! Handy! Thanks!

Could someone describe how to identify the number using the inventory outputfile? I've actually never used them....

Here's the start of an xxx-Inventory.txt file:
      Code:
      Location Name ID Count Slots
      Charm Arena Champion's Badge 39198 1 5
      Charm-Slot1 Slipgear's Gem 51683 1 5
The header line says it all. The ID number is column 3 in a tab-separated list.

The number 5 in the "Slots" column seems to be some sort of default value.

Contaniers have the total number of slots in that column.

If the item is a container, this column shows the number of slots. Otherwise, it seems to be 5 (or 0 if nothing present). I'm guessing there are no 5-slot containers in the game.

It's the number of augment slots for non-containers. Note that not all potential augment slots are actually available for augments.

When I was outputting that, I just wanted you to know how many things could possibly be "inside" that item.
