Loss of "Officiality"

Ok, maybe that's not a word. Anyway, I wanted to let you all know that I'm no longer at SOE. It's pretty common for programmers to leave the gaming industry once they reach a "certain age". In general, this is bad for the industry, but good for the programmer's family life.

Anyway, I'll still hang out, but as my new title (thanx, Verdandi) states, there's nothing SOE-official about anything I say now (not that there was much, lately, anyway, but there you go).

Woot! Now I can mouth off to my heart's content! Well, maybe not. Verdandi's already smacked me once. Maybe just while the Ogre's away.

Hey, now you can spill all the juicy gossip! Is it true Dev So-and-so purposely made such-and-such race clearly superior? I heard that this other dev really had it in for yet-another-dev and broke all his quests on purpose! And of course, the formulae! Is it true you changed all the tradeskill formulae the day after our Fan Faire just to confuse the heck out of tradeskillers?

(And yes, I'm a very evil paladin! =)

Seriously, though, on the one hand, I'm sorry to see you leave SOE, but on the other, I realize how important a family can be. I wish you all the best on your endeavors, wherever they may lead you. =)
