  • Gah: Sanctum Grimlings in Acrylia Cavern

I vaguely recall following a friend to do her Master's Aug book to kill the sanctum grimlings in Acrylia Caverns but:

    a) are they behind that locked door over the crevice after you go up those steps?
    b) if so waht do I need to do/loot/quest to get the key to that door?
    c) and, if not, where?

thanks to thosethat can offer help

When you are in the big room beyond the skellies facing the lava pool, enter the door on your right and click the pillar in there. Ports you to Inner Acrylia. A key is no longer needed. There are at least two places you can click to leave....but neither are near the port in /evilgrin.

Found the spot, did the quest and found out two valuable lessons.

After I zoned back in to do the second portion (kill 5 sanctum corpseXXX) I was in a bit of a hurry. I had parked my chanter in the sanctum and was running my paladin back to finish up. I said to myself, "Self, there is no way those grimlings can click the portal to get through so I'll just train the portal, click it, camp to clear incidental aggro and finish the quest."

So I train the portal (zone was otherwise empty) and pop through. A moment later about 60-75 grimlings come out of nowhere around the corner in the sanctum. (I guess they jumped the gap and came looking for payback). I began to run around the sanctum (inciting even more aggro) to give my chanter time to camp out. Resolved that I would die anyways I thought "I will die at the sacrifical cauldron, how fitting."

As I ran through that room I remember Sharrien saying "There are at least two places you can click to leave....but neither are near the port in /evilgrin." and I saw the tapestry on the wall.

        Hmm.

Lay on Hands was down, now 100ish grimlings on my tail, low health, what the heck, its worth a shot. I clicked it.

        Loading Please Wait....

Ported safely to Grimling Forest hehe.

        Thanks Sharrien.

I wouldn't want to get this totaly off topic.... sooo... ummm... Trains as a means of farming tradeskill supplies. The classic is farming shreiking/wailing substances. A well equiped tank plus an AE nuker (wizzy, cleric or druid I have all used in the past) is the most efficient way to get enough substances for smithing shadowscream.

WOW! Finding that tapestry with a pissed off army on your tail must have been exciting! I spent a lot of time in Inner AC and it's a fun place to go. FYI, the other click out is in the corner of a dead-end room that has a pit with a ladder in it. Right next to the room that has a grimling in each corner and another on the raised dais in the middle (two named PH's in that room). Make sure you don't fall in the pit, there was something bad-tempered down there if memory serves.

In your search for acrylia, don't throw away the filth-covered weapons. Venders are oddly fond of them.
