I guess what I want to ask is, why do the new TSS charms require high pottery skill? The ceramic clay is tradable, but the unfired charms and fired charms are no drop. At least make them tradable. My tinker would have to get 3 AAs and spend a bunch of plat skilling up pottery to get a tinkering charm. At least make it so a potter with high skill can make the charm if I provide the ceramic clay! Please!

no AA's 200 skill = 64% chance to make... not that bad.
210 skill (geerlok/trophy) = 74% chance... just 1% less than the cap (it is capped at 75%)
I have no plans on changing the skills nor skill levels.

In fairness, pottery hasn't had a bit of decent loving for quite a while. Its good to see folks having a decent reason to make skilling up worthwhile, even if the product is not sellable.Ysall - EMarr - lvl 70 Ench

You are right that pottery did not get much loving in the last expansions. I am also excited that I can use my 300 pottery skill for some combine after all the time. I can make *one* item as soon as I get past that queue at the kilnOriginally posted by YsallIn fairness, pottery hasn't had a bit of decent loving for quite a while. I am grateful that pottery got something but in all fairness, no drop combines do not help a suffering trade skill at all. (Nor did no fail combines or recipes that lost even their minor purpose.)

According to the book it is only the second combine (firing) that is success capped. So with a 210 effective pottery skill you have to go through two 74% combines, bringing the total success rate down to around 55%. It's certainly still doable without pottery above 200, but there is a significant success difference.Originally posted by Ngreth Thergnno AA's 200 skill = 64% chance to make... not that bad.

I moved the Pottery Wheel combines (unfired) to 210 for all but the Unfired Artisan's Charm.
