According to the book the final combine is hard capped at 75% and is "educational". So presumably has a skill up bonus.

Any idea what my chances to make it at 208 skill would be? No pottery AA as potery was my last tradeskill I was going to max, then this expansion hit and the good stuff is pottery *sadface*.

According to something Ngreth posted elsewhere, you should be at 74% success rate right now. So you're within 1% of max chance; have at it and have fun.
My fellings exactly. Why bother to max skill when there is an artificial success rate built in? Make the trivial 400+ if need be. It really defeats the purpose of skilling up.
I failed my first combine attempt but was successful on the second, both done at 2100 skill.

Using the calculator on this site and assuming 208 skill with no percent modifier and 370 prime stat:
The Clay (262 trivial) yields 63% chance for success
The Unfired charm (250 trivial) yields 72% chance for success
The Charm (250 Trivial with 75% max success) yields 72% chance for success.

That was referring to the final combine for the individual charms (250 trivial), you need 229 skill +5% to get to max success (not capped) on the clay combine for the artisan charm.

Just so everyone knows, the Wanderlust Guild Loadstone is going to be nerfed next patch, you won't reach current stats unless you can clear most of Ashengate, or you're a rogue with SoS. I think it'll still be slightly better than the maxed Slipgear gem, but not by much.
