  • Level 75 and last blood/bazu augs

Currently all Last Blood, Bazu, etc. type augments are level 70 for the focus effects. A developer stated that only Deathknell items would be upgraded to higher level.

Considering all the time and work involved in creating these particular augments, don't you think losing 50% of the power on them when you reach 75 is a bit much?

My guild is just now starting to work on getting Anguish flagged, we have a few Bazu stones already. I'm starting to worry that it isn't worth the effort to create the augments now.

well that depends on how much of your guild is planning on not buying the new expansion. In theory if you are going to buy the expansion it wont take long to hit lvl 75 anyways.

Most of the focii will suffer far less than a 50% reduction in power. Since 80% or more of the spells will be level 71-74. For example I expect the new ranger heal to be level 72 (since the last 2 were 67 and 62), so my bazu seal of healing will lose only 20%. Also remember that spell haste focii only lose 5% per level rather than 10%. If you are just now starting to get bazu augs, you can choose which effects you think you will last the longest.

I was hoping to use a bazu to upgrade one of my current focus that I have now, many of which are still level 67 based.

Preservation of Xegony - 15% Mana savings to 67
Vengeance of Magic - 40% magic DD focus to 67
Vengeance of Fire - 40% fire DD focus to 67
        Druzzil's Distance - 20% spell range to 67
        Eterninostrum - 20% buff duration to 67

Quickening of Druzzil - 23% spell haste to 67 (I don't even have this yet, but plan on having it soon with Qvic arms).

I would most likely do the Bazu seal of Flame, 45% Fire DD to 70. But if I spend 250k on parts to make it, I'd like it to not be a 23% at 75 focus. It's rather likely there will be some kind of 20 or 25% to 75 DD focus easily available.

it'd be cool if there were a LB-like drop in future zones that could be used to upgrade the focus on the LB to a Serpent's Spine (level 75) one.

I personally think that the Bazu level focii should stay level 70, and the Last Blood level focii should be bumped up to level 72.

Seems to me that this would be the most balanced solution.

That assumes that they're level 70 to begin with, and some aren't... they're 67.

I guess this issue will be addressed when the whole of the DoD aug line is re-looked at, and given what they did with Time Focii I wouldn't be surprised to see current top-end focii extended to 72... but I'm not sure if this includes Last Blood focii...

This does present a conundrum for me. I currently have a piece of GM armor, and my guild farms Bazu Augs frequently (**** Shyra).

With the next expansion coming out, I supposed there will be a new line that goes to 75 with upgraded foci.

Also, we are on the brink of downing a mob that drops Last Blood. So basically I could grab a Bazu, wait for a LB to become available, or even continue to hold out for the new 75 aug. hmm...

Pretty sure they said there would not be a level 75 version of the augs "this expansion".

Come to think of it...I think I remember Ngreth saying that. Well, that solves that dilema.
