  • Figuring out a forage hot key

The refresh time on my druids forage ability is 1 minute 40 seconds.

Problem is the max time limit on a macro hot key pause is 600 (one minute). While reading I want to get as many skill ups as possible. So I made this macro hot key, but it does not seem to work.

    /doability 1, /pause 600
    /pause 410, /doability 1
    /pause 600, /pause 410
    /doability 1, /pause 600
    /pause 410, /vplay 5

Can someone tell me what is going wrong? That set of commands seems like it should work. But it dont.

Found the problem with the not a valid command, a typo error on the first line, but the hot key still does not work.

Don't think the macro likes commas.Try just doing the first 4 commands with an autoinventory thrown in.

          *sigh*

pause goes first on the line, always

pause MUST be followed by a comma if there is another command on the line

pause happens AFTER the command that follows it

you cannot follow a pause with A PAUSE .... even if you use two lines (so far as I have been able to check)

          /pause 550, /whatever-forage-is (Forage #1, followed by 55 seconds, roughly, of pause)
/pause 550, /autoinventory (put whatever you got in inventory, followed by 55 seconds)
          /pause 550, /whatever-forage-is (Forage #2, another 55 second pause)
/pause 550, /autoinventory (again dump into inventory, 55 second pause)
/whatever-forage-is (Forage #3, you could pause after, buy why?)

Ta-Dah !! ... Three forages with one key press. You may want to tune the pauses down from 550 to closer to 500 but i'd say 505 is a minimum to avoid trying to forage before it re-freshes...

And this constitutes the THIRD TIME this info has been posted by me alone. Surely 'search' would have yielded something ...

Good info there, Itek. Don't know if I'd use it myself--I have enough problems remembering to forage on the second account every minute and a half or so...I'd probably forget to hit it after three forages

Question I have for Devilcharm--what's the "/vplay 5" supposed to do?

the /vplay should play a voice macro - which would alert you to hit the key again.

Go with Itek's macro list but make the last line vplay instead so you get proper working forage/inventory and be alerted. With the 4 lines of pauses, the forage should pop up a few seconds before you get vplay so you just hit the key when you hear it.

Pretty soon you'd forget NOT to hit the key when you hear the voice tell on your main =)

Ah, ok. I haven't played with the sound on since early 2000, so it's no wonder I didn't know what it is

I generally don't use the voice tells (DE Male and Hobbit Male voices suck, and worse even if I change them FOR ME they still remain the same on other peoples machine)

But, yeah, if you replace the last /doability-forage line with a voice tell you'd be alerted.

Plus if you made the /pause number, /autoinventory #2 long enough the forage button would be refreshed.

line one: wait after forage, forage
line two: wait after autoinv, autoinv
line three: wait after second forage, second forage
line four: wait after second autoinv, second autoinv
line five: tell yourself to press the key again (forage button ready)

                    meh ....

Oh, the whole /pause 3 seconds after, /doing-something convention makes perfect sense to programmers.... which is scary on enough levels.

As I have 2 computers I can run second account on the other computer. If you can do separate computer you could just replace the sound file with something more to your taste. Since you'd be foraging and likely not in group or anything modified vtell won't mean much to other people.

You could also use the new audio triggers.

Setup a new chat channel for that character only (/join MyForageChannel:Password)

Then, use "/# Forage Done" where "#" is the number of that channel.

Then, setup an audio trigger for "You tell MyForageChannel:#, 'Forage Done'" (replacing "#", again) with whatever noise you want.
