  • Domesticated Hatchlings in Rathe Mts gone?

Was there an intended ellimination of the domesticated hatchlings in Rathe Mountains? I had farmed spiderling silk there before the patch, and just went back for the first time since the patch today. They are now essentially non-existant. I'll send a /feedback but I was hoping those more versed in tradeskills would know whether this was an intended effect or if this is something that might need to be corrected.

If the population of the hatchlings are to remain how they currently are, have other zones also been affected? And where now is a decent place to farm for spiderling silks?

Well, I believe I killed a few with my little froggie after the patch on the 15th, but they were scarcer than usual.

If their spawn rate has been intentionally decreased, can we please make them non-KOS to the wandering froglok guardsmen, after all, it makes no sense for guards to be killing their races' "livestock" anyways.

If there was no change in the spawn rate, you may want to simply kill the PHers (larvae, shrooms, skellies, snakes, zombies) that spawn in that area too.

There are still some spawning, but they are definitely not present in the volume they were pre-patch. I went back after you suggested killing the other mobs in the area: fungoids, bleeders, skellies, snakes, etc. and the spawning of the domesticated hatchlings didn't seem to improve. And it is definitely much less than pre-patch. I could run around non-stop killing and there would always be a few hatchlings up. Now I am lucky to see several hatchlings in several minutes.

And I agree about the guards, especially if this new spawn rate is to be permanent. With the number of guards roaming there, it is difficult to beat them to the hatchlings.

Certainly not something I did. Will have to poke a few people and see if it was a side effect of something.

The fungus men are now using DodH models, as are the Kobolds, so that is at least one way the zone was changed.

So it could be a side effect, or maybe a deliberate change... MAybe Maddoc adjusted the spwn rate due to Progression Server tweaking? Because all the other mobs used to be less common, so froggies may have complained of a lack of drops for their newbie armor quests or something...

Not sure if this applies, but recently they changed the respawn time of any mob under a certain level (like 5) to around 2 minutes. This could be causing the population in the area to turn over faster, and thus reach a state of 0 hatchlings quickly (as they get killed and replaced by non-kos mobs)

aha...that was a Progression server fix wasn't it? I seem to recall a thread complaining that "instant respawns" would make things too easy for levelling up...BAH.

If this can't be fixed in Rathe Mtns, then the domesticated spiderlings need to DEFINATELY become non-kos to the guards, thiose guards keep KSing us!

Probably not a teriblle issue, but a point... if we do change it... then newbies will not be able to run to guards for help. (not sure that that is the issue yet...)

any newbie killed by a spiderling deserves it,

(the domesticated spiderlings are pushovers usually, even for level 1s)

Where did all the spiderlings go that use to be in inny swamp? I killed for hours there and no spiders at all anywhere in that zone anymore.
I was wondering why i didnt see spiderling silk in the bazaar anymore, now i see why.Its cause theres not many spiders to kill anywhere lol.
Does anyone even know where there are lots of spiderlings anymore? you need 2 spiderling silk to make one thread. And using recipes that use silk thread for skilling up is insane now.
