  • Patch message (tradeskill stuff)

    Items

    - Changed all four of the Furious Bash Augments from DoD that use Ambleshift's Amazing Automated Amalgamator to Improved Block. Additionally the names of the Chronal, Discordant and Bazu seals have been changed appropriately.
    - Altered the Favorable Breezes line of augments from DoD that use Ambleshift's Amazing Automated Amalgamator. They now give a different progression of effect.

    *** Tradeskills ***

    - Increased the amount of mobs that can drop exceptional shissar blood.
    - The tradeskill recipes for Dreary Deeds and Infusion of Spirit have finally been discovered.
    - Merchants across the world realized that they were selling small pieces of ore at a loss. They have mutually agreed on a price increase.
    - The poisons from the Omens of War era will no longer magically create a vial; they now require two of the appropriate poison vial.
    - You will no longer be able to combine ingredients that you have up for sale in the bazaar.
    - The Antonican forge has moved to outside of Armor by Ikthar.
    - Failing to create Frost Bunny Stew will now return your pot to you.
    - Fixed the bug to the evolution of the tradeskill trophies for players using lower than master certificates while having a 300 skill.
    - Bristlebane's Challenge and Bristlebane's Challenge Meats have changed to No Drop.
    - Fixed a bug in the wording of the Grandmaster's Book of Barbarian Culture.
    - Expanded the shark skins that can be used to make advanced poison vials. There are two shark skin items, both with the same name.
    - Seeping Haze poisons will now properly bestow the Seeping Haze proc effect.
    - Bitter feedback poisons will not properly bestow the Bitter Feedback proc effect.

I really hope that the AAAA combine changes are not retroactive, or, if they are, there is a refund mechanism.

Well, considering that the Furious Bash augments didn't work and the focus affects for Favorable Breezes were too low of focus, I'm betting these are both improvements, except for players that originally thought they could use Furious Bash and don't have block either. In that case, it's a push for them.

Not much of a nerf considering small gain were made (there was a post on this earlier) and with a few seconds delay between combine killing rathe hill giant would be more profitable. But then again SOE hates free money on tradeskills.

That will be the first thing I do today when I log on. I hope they remembered to make the rune droppable.

It's a bigger issue when you consider the Combine server coming out. Hill giants won't be so easily killed at first, and when do finally reach farmable status, they will likely be heavily camped.

Ngreth posted previously that they did work. Furious Bash doesn't have to be on a shield to function, it can be anywhere. It's just "preferred" that FB be on a shield for lore reasons -- you bash with your shield, not with your greaves or sleeves.

The problem with FB is that it only affected the amount of hate generated by a bash. Lucy and other spell interpretation engines got it wrong when they suggested FB affects stuns and other aggro-generating spells and abilities. For that reason, FB was considered "broken" by players. By design, FB increases only the hate from bashing. That amount of hate is so small as to be laughable, though. So, FB isn't broken, it's just effectively useless.

              No Kryos, that is incorrect.

Furious Bash augments did not work, period. All Ngreth said was that he had been told they did work, which was all he could go on. As I explained on that thread, they do not work, have not worked, and cannot work unless they change the mechanism of how such foci works.

It seems he, or someone else, looked into it further and realized the problem and replaced the effects.

              They never worked.

If FB is flatly broken, that affects itemization far beyond these four augments. FB has been used as a justification of giving certain shields to warriors rather than knights, and vice versa. If it doesn't work, then it effectively touches on class balance, which is a whole bigger and more dangerous can of worms.

Eh, he's not talking about shields with FB, only the augments that had FB.

OK, you're arguing semantics. I see little difference between "doesn't work" and "effectively useless." The net affect is the same. They removed a useless ability from an item and replaced it with a useful ability for a small audience (two classes).

As Astroshak noted, FB works fine on shields, it does not work as a foci on your bracer, for example, just like a +dmg augment won't work in a non-weapon item.

5+ All resists increase to the stats of Bristlebanes Challenge, and definately no-drop now. Anyone any info if the number produced by combine has changed?

Very disappointing, no increase in the number of BC's made by the combine. With it now being no-drop, had high hopes it would be at least bought in line with Bristlebanes Platter, and produce 2.

The aug changes bring up a few more questions. Apparently I Missed the posts about FB not working from the augs. I made one with future plans of using it with a shield that has no FB on it. No biggie that it doesn't work, as it was that or Sharpshooting.

                              Anyhow...

The new aug has Improved Block IV on it while Dodge and Parry only have level III. Anyone else think that was a mistake? Not to mention the fact the augs (at least the Last Blood) with Improved Block IV on them won't function as they are listed as focus effects instead of worn affects.

Has anyone seen anything about the difference in focus levels between the fixed aug and the level of foci already on augs on the Sony boards? I honestly got tired of looking and I didn't see anything.
