    Delphontes,

I am afraid you are incorrect.
    Delfontes, that is all.

Ok, so I've never noticed my mana bar moving... and have seen items called 'meditation hoop' that lower int/wisdom, with the assumed effect I described above. Put it on, med to full, take it off, still full but with higher int, and more mana.

I'll check tonight with INT items as well as with my few Mana items. Most of my items don't add mana, as I have been on the Everquest to get to 255 INT, and caring little for actual mana.

I have begging up as high as I can get it and seem to get mostly coin from guards. and lower faction. I had venders give cheap items like 1 milk or 1 ration.

As for the AT that was to have the stat boost from the drinks without the tunnel vision. As a newbie I would get drunk and fall off the docks in BB. some of the higher-level chars that came through thought that was funny and give me beer and money.

Nothing better then to get paid to get drunk.

        Doh!

Those darn Programmers, turns out they are good at their jobs.

Put on a Jesters crown, and boy does that mana bar move... and I've done that a lot, guess I gotta pay better attention.

Anyhow, in summation, drinking=fun... for game it is pointless.

The Meditation hoop is good if you have a really high int, so high that the mana it gives is more then the mana you lose from lowering your int. Currently you recieve 6 mana for every point of int over 200, this was an increase from the old level of around 1 or 2 mana increase for every int over 200.

Assume that your int is 240 and each int over 200 is 1 mana:

          Before increase:

          int 240 = mana for 200 int + 40 mana

          With Hoop

          int (240 - 10) + 65 mana = mana for 200 int + 30 mana + 65 mana

This means that you woud gain 55 mana even with the loss of 10 int.

          After increase:

          int 240 = mana for 200 int + 240 mana(6 X 40)

          With Hoop

          int (240 - 10) + 65 mana = mana for 200 int + 180 mana(6x30) + 65 mana

This means that you still gain 5 mana with the Hoop on, assuming that your int is over 200 with it on. And if your int goes well over your max (255 for under 60th level), say your int would hit 270 with buffs, then you would gain all the mana on the Hoop with no loss.

The Hoop is actually a fairly dated item now, back when it was added is was a nice way to increase your mana pool if you were over the threshold. Now its not bad but there are much better ways to increase your mana pool.
