"Death comes swiftly" bite the bullet and just farm that mission for the silks.
If someone wants the last blood aug that bad, deal with the repetition.

If your guild can get the last blood aug, then it should be no problem to 3 man the mission. (personally, 70 dru, sk, enc, and we beat it for the crystals)

The point is that you need to go through the effort to farm the silks and get the armor made and hope that you get awarded the Last Blood. OR you get the Last Blood and it rots in the bank while you try and get the silks to get the armor made. A guild receives zero benefit by awarding a Last Blood to a silk wearer if that toon is unable to to equip it. Keep in mind, a silk wearer needs TWICE the number of rare drops to make a single piece of armor. It's not so easy to just say "bite the bullet" and farm it. The silks need to either be put on more mobs or have the drop rate increased. It's the only fair thing to do.

somthing to add with the effects on the DODH pc made augs via the Almgator, will the pet foci tablet be removed and/or will the pet foci verson of the chrono,discord,bazu and last blood augments be more effectitlvly removed from the game rather than just blocking the known final combine.

The drop rate on Storm Volaas Hairs is not that bad. With a warrior/cleric/necro 3-box I can clear the big building, bridge, and small building behind it in ~1 1/2 hour and get 8-12 pieces. If I drop the warrior and add a mage friend for pet pulls/pet tanking I can clear all the buildings in about 1 1/2 - 2 hours (depending on how lazy we are) and get 15-20 pieces. My characters are Time/Qvic geared, I imagine someone in DoD/PoR getting Bazu/LB augs should be able to match that rate. That being said, it's still totally level-inappropriate for Master's armor and it lacks as a skillup path to 300.

I think we would be doing ourselves an injustice by asking a question that can be answered simply by 'yes' or 'no' unless it is an extremely important outstanding community issue. I'd also leave out high-end itemization issues (like questions about DoD augs) since posting on the EQLive boards seems to be enough to get those questions answered.

Mob drops of bars of silver/electrum/gold/platinum/velium might help to reduce the cost of jewelry and research skill-ups (long with other items) and make the research path that uses gold/platinum bars a bit more viable (for the underclass).

Could we ask if bar drops (silver, electrum, gold, plat, velium) could bhe added to the game?

Paladium is in essence a drop/forage (made from Scale Ore) and so are the PoR jewelry "ore" items (prestig...whatever).

One thing I've wondered is why there's no Faerune (or equivalent) option on DoD augs. Admittedly not a great effect, but not present on more recent high-end gear, so probably quite desirable if you have access to/desire for multiple Last Bloods or similar.

Do Mana Crystals actually have a known use?

I know Maddoc had to first talk to SAS about the quest, but I don't think if I ever heard a concrete answer stating, yes or no they have a known use. It's always been discussion about furthering the questline.

I'm not sure if Ngreth's response is in regards to the drop rate issue for DoN components or the issue Telorea brought up on why other armor items are not included in DoN armor.

I'd second the question on the other armor along with adding in Shields to the mix.

There is a DoDH Aug that includes the Furious Bash focus effect on it and it would only make sense to put that onto a shield.

Note that there are Tae Ew Shields that were player made and quite nice for the time when they appeared along with some older cultural shields.

This is also a "visiable" slot. Although some might consider it a weapon...

Then one of each race smithing and tailoring.
