  • Throphy's worth doing at 300 skill?

    Hello Everyone =)

I have been doubting for a while now on wether or not to work on the new grandmaster throphy's. I have a raw skill of 300 in most tradeskills currently and have been using the 5% geerloks for quite a while. The 15% modifier on the GM throphy is looking very attractive but after all the debates on succes caps on most of todays high end items I'm wondering if these would be worth getting to actually increase my succes chance on items?

I've mainly been creating Grandmaster Gear and Augments with focus effects, but from what I have read the succes caps on those are maxxed if you have 288skill + geerlok and mastery AAs are basically useless to increase your succes chance at max skill (which is why I stopped doing them).

    Would love some advice

The hard capped success rates only apply to a very limited set of combines, DoN cultural and augs, and certain OoW augs. I strongly suspect they will remain limited to those areas given how strongly the tradeskills community has made plain its dislike of these artificial caps.

New recipies with DoD and PoR indicate that much higher triv levels are coming over the horizon, and N'greth has hinted as much on more than one occassions.

So, is it worth the effort of getting your lvl 7 trophy? Well yes, it is, if you take the example of 408 trivial items like the AAAA. If you have the lvl 6 12% trophy, you have a success rate of 81.5%. If you have the lvl 7 15% trophy, that chance of success increases to 90.5%.

10% difference in success rates seems well worth having to me, especially when the items that attract those kinds of triv levels are usually going to be high value end products.

The highest current non success capped smithing or tailoring combine is 362 for the last blood seal. This is at excactly 95% success if you are at 300 +5%. However, other tradeskills already have high trivials that benefit from not only the level 7 trophy, but also mastery 3.

Fletching: 408-Composite Treant Laminate Recurve Bow Staff
JC: 412 to 423-Various cuts for Harmonagate

Notice that these are the tradeskills that have recieved the most recent batches of new recipes. It is very likely that the whatever tradeskills recieve attention in the next expansion will similarly gain high trivial recipes. Getting the trophies done now lets you be ready for the future, even if it doesn't have an immediate benefit.

Thanks much for the quick replies!
That's what I was thinking. Seems like they would have no benefit for me in that case at the current time =( Still waiting to see the first Harmonagate for sale on Drinal and thats most likely the only item I would create from the list of items that throphy's would help my succes rate on.
I don't have the PoR expansion yet, been thinking about buying it so I could start on those throphy's but I think I will delay that for a while now. Still stuck fighting and having a good time in OoW and DoDH content hehe. So much stuff to do still =)

If higher end recipies get released... I'll go racing to catch up
