Revisiting: Coarse Silk and other cultural drops

Any news on when the fix is coming? Has anyone found anything about it on any boards?

With the slew of various stones dropping in PoR (last blood, bazu, etc.), it's even more noticeable now than before that alot of us still can't make our GM armor very easily, if at all.

Coarse Spider Silk is still rare as all hell while, in comparison, I got 4 scales and 2 hides in one instance a couple days ago .. in less than 2 hours.

I can only assume the people needing the other insanely rare items (reptile teeth/hides, etc) are still having the same problem as well.


Just curious, since this got kinda swept under the rug with PoR release ...

I've been doing tailoring skillups on master DoN armor whenever I come across shimmering ukun hides. Its rather uncommon and I'd be lucky to find more than 10 in bazaar in a week. Compare to the lucky races who can do shissar scales, I once farmed 500 scales in a week since they're more common and there's more shissars that drop it.

Well ... "eventually", "before long", "sometime", etc are all getting quite old as ETA's.

This has been broken for a very long time and shoulda been fixed awhile back. I know I've harped on it quite a bit, but hell .. it needs to be fixed.

In all my farming since DoN cultural came out, I've gotten maybe 8 or 10 silks. I've bought the few ultra-rare ones that happen to pop up in Bazaar for ungodly prices, as well ... only to lose 10 of em in failed robe combines. (built-in fails + no tinkering mastery is just .. wrong, btw)


I'm sure Ngreth hates hearing about this almost as much as I hate having to keep bringing it up, but man .. it's way past time this was addressed.

1. Please address any direct questions you may have for a Dev on the EQLive forums. I know you didn't ask Ngreth a direct question in your original post, but you are pretty much fishing for an answer from him on this issue, yes?

2. Ngreth has already posted about this on EQLive forums. See his "No ETA..." post stickied in The Artisan's Way. Read all of his posts in that thread as he did post some additional clarifications...
