  • Waste Not Want Not Skilling

It is a little late for my skilling up now, but are there more recipes out there like Misty Thicket Picnics that can be used to skill up from 0 to 300?

    Follow the logic here -

    Vegetables to 15
    Royal Mints to 76
    Mature Cheese to 84
    Winter Chocolate to 95
Apricot Marmalade and Marmalade Sandwich to 99
    Jumjum Salad to 142
    Jumjum Cake to 166

and then your final combines to 300.

Admittedly 166 to 300 is a huge jump, but doing all these subcombines during your baby skillups you're not making anything you're just going to destroy later. Obviously you can do filler combines in there too.

But my point was does anyone else know of any other high end combine that the subcombines could be done during your initial skillup and saved for combines later?

I'm eventually going to try my hand at writing a waste not guide for tradeskills if I can.

I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Not all skills have viable means to do so, obviously pointing out the large gap in 166 to 300, but regardless, you are making items you will use as you skill up later, so how ever many short you will be .. who cares.

Another skill that has a very nice curve along those lines is Spell Research.

Actually, I think that may lead to more waste, especially of the non-Vendor-bought items than the existing routes to 191 (fish rolls/patty melt etc) -- you are going to have pretty bad fail rates on the Winter Chocolate and Jumjum cake steps for sure (32% fail rate on winter chocolate at 88 skill with geerlock, 25% fail rate on the cakes at 142+5%), whereas if you leave it till 191 to make the Cakes your success rates will be 95%.

Yeah, I will try to pad it out as much as possible to avoid loss. Patty melts being a good example of said padding.

I guess it just stems from a frustration of doing subcombines - I think to myself I should have been making these all along and saving them, then I wouldn't have to do this now, etc....

Of course, doing it this way IS going to eat a lot of bank space.

The only problem with the MTP subcombines are that they product multiple products, anything from 5 - 20 products per combine. You are going to need to utilise some serious banking space to accomadate all you produce.

            Halas 10 lb meat pies.

The meats in cream sauce can be done and stored for the final combine, but again it is not in my opinion worth it because of all the other skill up options through the mid 100s.

Yeah, the more I review it the less likely it seems feasible. Thanks for the input though.
