  • Can I still only have one tradeskill above 200?

I looked and didn't see this asked. I apologize if it's a repeat question or if I missed the answer somewhere.

I left EQ just after Velious came out and SO much has changed - but I'm still a crafter at heart.

I've been working on almost all of the tradeskills since I've been back - getting my skill to 50 and then working on the Beginner Trophies.

But today I realized that before I could only have one skill per character above 200. Is this still the case?

Yes, you can only raise one of teh 7 basic skills over 200, unless you buy the New Tanaan Crafting Mastery AAs

You can raise Tinkering, Spell Research, Alchemy &/or Poison Making (depends on whetheer you can learn these skills) above 200 in addition to one of teh 7 skills, however.

That is, in fact, a Frequently Aksed Qustion, and can be found in the Frequently Aksed Question folder under the post "General Tradeskills FAQ."
Q: What are the skill maximums (or 'caps') for tradeskills?
A: All tradeskills may be raised to the skill level of 200. You may have one of your tradeskills raised to the skill level of 300. There are exceptions for race-specific and class-specific tradeskills.

After level 51, you may buy the Alternate Advancment ability New Tanaan Crafting Mastery to raise additional tradeskills to the level of 300.

Is it possible to raise three skills to 300 without NTCM? I have a gnome enchanter and want to get her Tinkering up to 300 but her JC is already 300 and her Research is 215. I don't want to take the time to work on it if i need to get her to 51 my time would be better spent doing that.

Yes, you CAN raise all 3 of those tradeskill (JC, Tink, Research) to 300 without any AA.

You CANNOT, however, raise the following skills over 200 with out getting the AA: baking, brewing, fletching, pottery, smithing, tailoring. It costs 3 AA, and there are 6 ranks (one for each AA). So, once you buy 1 of the AA, you can raise one of the remaing 6 tradeskills over 200 and up to 300 if you like. Then when you get the 2nd rank, you can take another TS over, etc, etc.

Wondering.. (since I just recently got the tradeskill bug )..

Say when I get to 51, get 3 AA's and spend them on New Tanaan Crafting Mastery, (cause thats where to put it, rite?). What will determine what TS that will/can go to 300?

Is it as simple as; first one I get to 201? And same for the next 3 AA's etc.. ?

                Thanks!

Yep, it's that simple. First one to cross to 201 after you get the AAs spent. And the same for the others after that as well.
