I remember the joy I had when my 95 INT Half Elf hit 180 smiting on banded, one click at a time. <if I had a penny for each click that took...>

I'm having a lot more fun now, but the sense of accomplishment was tremendous "way back when".

Thanks for that link. I actually remember when there were no message boards. If you wanted to post a 'message', like that you were selling fine plate on Tunare, for example, you e-mailed Niami and she manually added it to the site.

I remember my first attempt at baking in 2000, no official receipe site (at least that I knew of) and it was a random trying of things. I tried many a combine with what I foraged and never ever managed to guess something right so after a few months I gave up. Did not take it up again till well into 2004 when I discovered this site

          Regrets

How many of you regret not taking smithing >200 when you could do it with fine plate at 25 pp per BP mold at the top end . I took 3 chars to 175 smithing with banded, had 10 stacks of padding saved up, but turned back to my first obsession, tayloring (what a waste back then). Woke up one patch day to realize the price I paid for being afraid to "waste" my one and only >200 skill on smithing .

Yep, that's what happend to me also. I found about the patch two days before. I did a mad combine fest during those two days and got total of 3 points. I ended up giving up and waited about 3 months before starting smithing again.
