  • Old Tradeskiller Back in Norrath

    Hi everyone,

I've recently come back to EQ, thankfully my druid with all their tradeskills are still in tact (yay ).

There seem to be a lot of changes, new tradeskill maximums too. I was a little lost looking through all the information, and I'm still learning.

My question to you folks in the know is what would you suggest I start making/working on to get back into tradeskilling? I am EP flagged, so I may be able to get drops from there. I bought Titanium so I *think* I have all the new expansions. I am mostly interested in figuring out where to proceed, which tradeskill would be best suited to make a little profit to fund my others skills, etc (I gave away all my PP when I quit two and a half years ago).

    Here are my skills:

    Fishing 171
    Baking 224
    Tailoring 246
    Blacksmithing 228
    Fletching 241
    Brewing 248
    Jewellery 250
    Pottery 222

My rogue also has 250 in poison making.

I really enjoyed tradeskilling and I'm just a little lost at the moment on what direction to make. I don't mind farming a bit at all, but I would like to focus on getting some currency at first to help level up some of my skills to the new maximum of 300.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and I welcome any suggestions

You can fish in Darkhollow for tiny blind cave fish and make ales .This will raise fishing and brewing:-)
Bakeing make MTP's, Tailoring make cabbage robes till they trival at 252 i think, then you gotta make velious furs and/or coralius entrails for belts(expensive tho).Blacksmithing either shadowscream or MCS's UGG.For JC keep makeing what you were for that range.Pottery i think Tunarian idols is the way to go.:-)

The best guide I have seen for ease/cost effective skilling up is

      http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?p=180920

There are a few other recipie possibilities that you'll find, but most of them can be a bit of a plat sink, so you would probably want to avoid them until you are a little better off financially.

As far as tradeskilling for profit, my thoughts would be:

      Baking - Misty picnics/Halas pies

Brewing - Kal Constitutionals, or if you feel like foraging in alot of zones, Juice of Quellious

Fishing - The blind fish in Corathus (but they're one of 10 or so on the table) or fishing in Cobalt Scar for the fish for Oils)

Tailoring - Depending on your race, Master and then Grandmaster items (make sure you get the new tailoring trophy) depending on how well they still sell on your server

Blacksmithing - Again, Master/Grandmaster depending on its saleability (get the new trophy as well), might want to get a few more skill points before you try anything besides the wrist slot tho.

Fletching - The only real big sellers are the Druzzil's Composite Treant Laminated Compound Bow, but they require a 404 trivial combine and are dropping fast in price on alot of servers (foraging the various fallen treant staffs [and collecting the ground spawns in Eldaar] to resell to people wanting to work up fletching fast could be a good source of income tho, but requires PoR expansion)

Jewel Craft - pretty much the only good sellers that I am aware of are prestidigidase stuff, but they trivial ~350 so might be a little high at the moment, I'd save all the Blue diamonds you come across, and any Prestis you come across on mobs or vendors for later, once you can work your skill up through the standard route

Pottery - Kind of fallen by the wayside at the moment, but not too difficult to raise up, the only thing that might sell well are the various charms for the AAAA combiner, through cultural smithing/tailoring, or maybe the various spiritstones, and some PoP stuff if you can find it dirt cheap or collect it. Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will,
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yeild.
