Hey all, it's been almost a year since I did any serious tradeskilling but when I was there was a bug where you had a higher failure rate on items if your modified skill (particularly Blacksmithing) was over 300 then if it was just under 300. Does anyone know if this bug is still present?

I've heard of the bug where Mastery seemed to be causing more failures, but that was most assuredly fixed.Angelsyn Whitewings, Cleric of Tunare for 66!

The bug was discussed in this topic:

It was apparent to those of us working on Grandmaster smithing items that failures dramatically increased when your modified skill passed 300 while those that had their skills just below 300 had good to great success rates. We all were hoping that it was bug that would be corrected soon, but then I stopped paying attention to tradeskilling for a while and I've never heard if it was fixed or not.Paladin, Underguild, Quellious "Finding interesting ways to die since '99"

Turns out that wasn't a bug -- that was the first sign we found of the success caps on GM armors. (Basically, you reach your maximum chance of success on them at around 250 skill with Mastery 3, or 300 skill without mastery, or somewhere in-between if you have a skill mod item over 5%.)Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade
