  • Issue with New Trophies

I have not seen this topic discussed. Hope I did not miss it somewhere.

If you have a raw skill of 295 and obtain the Expert trophy through the task, then you skill up to 300, is there a way to accelerate your evolving trophy up to level 6/7? or must you simply continue to evolve it naturally?

I ask this out of curiosity, as my skills were all 300 already - but folks ask me sometimes and I would like to have a better answer for them.

I am told you cannot get the master task after having completed one of the lower tasks.

As I understand Ngreth, if your base skill reaches the next level, your trophy will have accelerated evolving rate until it catches up to your skill so when you do get to 300, your trophy will go from 5/7 to 6/7 a lot faster.

It speeds up if you get ahead of it. So, if you get it at 295, it is level 5. When you hit 300, it will level up faster (11 times as fast) until it hits level 6. Then, it is just as if you had gotten it at 300, so slows down again.

As far as I know (and have read), this is not true. You can get the new task. I am not sure if you need to destroy the trophy first or not, though I suspect that you would AT LEAST have to destroy it before you completed the task. Either way, once you have a trophy, I would suggest just levelling it unless you are having a majorly hard time getting items for combines. Until it catches up to you, it's much faster. That being said, I would probably advise people to wait to get their trophy in the first place if they are very close to the next level, unless there's a part of the higher quest that is problematic for them.

I believe once you complete a trophy quest, no matter what level, you cannot get another. However, if you are 295, and in the process of attempting the combines you reach 300, you can drop the task and get the new one, but since you receive credit for completing the task I think that is it.

So destroy the trophy and you can do it again.
          Not according to this.

I have a problem with mine, I finally got over 150 research skill and my "freshman researcher Trophy" is no longer flagged as an evolving item. Kinda upset, considering the GM said there is nothing he can do about it.

You are able to go back and do a quest to get a new one...I accidently deleted mine, and the GM refunded it. However, before they refunded it, I went to start the quest and they gave it to me.

Did the GM refund the "evolved" item?

If so that is your problem.

the functions that GM's use to "create" items do not create an item that can evolve.

The GM instead needs to give you a "Beginner" item, and a certificate appropriate to the level of the "target"

I.E. if you are getting a "journeyman research trophy" refunded, you need a beginner research trophy and a "journeyman research certificate" (I am at home and not at work, so I am noy 100% sure on those names, but you get the idea)

It is a quirk of ALL evolving items, not just the trophies, that a player cannot be "given" an item that has evolved past level 1.
