/bug 'd in game last night
I was completing the Potter's test last night... I think Freshman or Apprentice level. It really isn't relevant though.... I also had in my Quest Journal the Smith's test, which I'm going to do tonight.
When it called for 2 pots and 2 smokers, I created them on the ehweel as required, then Fired tham in the Kiln.
I received quest updates on *both* quests
I completed the items I needed to finish, and went to WFP
I turned in my 2 pots and smokers to the Judge, got credit for my potter's test, and my smith's test as well.
thoughts: (the following is just a bunch of my opinions, the important information has been delivered)
Tradeskill tests should not use items with more than 1 way to create.
If they do, they should not replicate items used in another test.
Containers are hard to create and transport in any quantity.... a poor choice for a test that has to be carried back and forth across zonelines.
Recipies that call for unusual drops from rare/hard mobs in highend zones. (EX: muramite scales for Etched whip in the Tailor test, clay for the bolos on the pottery test). Had to vendor dive madly for such. going price on clay in bazaar was 1200pp.
related: parchment ... these run anywhere from 2500 to 8K on my server on any given day... this is an exorbitant price for those of us who can't hunt the drops solo or in small groups.
Sequential needs. You need a celestial cleaner, aqua fortis, aqua regia and a parchment made, ok... these are all used in the process. But then you have to back track and make an aqua regia, wait, you need an aqua fortis, but you're going to use that up, so you have to make another one.... This seems to be unneccesary complication.
In General, a great idea, especially for those of us who aren't going to be able to 2100 anytime soon, or even this year. And I'm having a lot of fun doing them, but I am scratching my skull now and again.
