  • Error on PoR jewelry?

In beta there was talk that the two highest level PoR jewelry gems would get multiple aug slots on finished items. They don't, but when items are uploaded into lucy they show as having 3 aug slots (type 7, type 9, type 1 for harmonagate, type 7, type 1, type 1 for prestidigase).

Were these supposed to have the aug slots, and are tagged as such somehow, but just weren't completed or something as to why in game they only have the type 7?

It was an error. But *mostly* harmless since players cannot normally see those slots. I have already corrected it, it jsut needs a patch.

That no players can see it is why it made it through beta no Beta player saw the extra slots!

The item colectors see the slots, but do not note that they are hidden.

Your reply was kinda vague, so to be clear, does this mean that the items are *supposed* to have 3 aug slots, or they are *not* supposed to (i.e. is the error that they are not showing in game, or that some piece of code has them tagged for the three slots)?

In addition, the rec/req levels for the jewelry needs to be modified somehow, as right now it seems that they are set the same for all types of jewelry depending on slot, making many of the pieces totally worthless.

For example, all the earring are showing 67 rec 62 req on them, including on items with like 35 hp mana. On the other hand, the rings don't seem to have any req/rec levels, making harmonagate rings very nice twink gear.

I don't think any of this stuff needs a required level, and the recommended levels should be reasonable. There are tons of 100-180 hp items in the bazaar these days, and tons more due to por expansion. Considering that the fire opal palladium rings (7 ac 80 hp) have no req/rec levels, maybe a recommended level of 30 on the prestidigase/palladium stuff would be fair, and maybe a recommended level of 55 on the harmonagate/palladium stuff (with requisite modification for the lower quality metals, though I have no clue why anyone would waste the gems on them).

The worse gems are no better than vendor bought enchanter stuff honestly, so no need to put any levels on them.

In general, I'm not a big fan of recommended levels (and I despise required levels), primarily because for the most part, they have been implemented badly (there is so much stuff with req levels of 55-70 that is trash that people simply do not wear at all (why would a 30 hp item have a required level of 58 or something is beyond me)), but in this case, I just thought it was important to point it out since it was obvious that there was an itent to be some kind of levels on them.

      So to recap:

      1) 67/62 is too high for this kind of jewelry (62 recommended would be a lot fairer for the 100 hp stuff)

      2) some of the jewelry has no req/rec levels, even for the 100 hp versions

      3) If/when you change these, be reasonable so that they still have some utility to people either as stopgap stuff for casual players or twink gear, otherwise they become worthless.

My post wasn't completely accurate, some of the worse gems do have lower req/rec levels (but they are still out of whack), but most of them seem to follow the same pattern (with earrings haveing WAY too high levels on them).

          Just to be clear.

what does it mean for the items to have slots that players can't see?

It just means that a player cannot add augments to the hidden slots themselves.

A quest can add to those slots though. (this was done to further improve Epic 2.0's with the DoDh Expansion.)

so, for some of the PoR items, i see two type-1 slots. these are the "hidden" slots, correct? does the fact that there are two mean that there are two quests (or something like that) that can possibly add to these items? or, what is the correct way to read two type-1 slots, or what is the correct inference to make about the fact that there are two of them, please?

                thanks for the info!

The correction is that they should not be there at all. They were never intended to be there at all. It was totally a mistake. I had some data swapped. those slots were supposed to be TYPE 0 (which means no aug slot) and Visibility 1 (means it shows, *IF* there is an aug slot there)...
Instead I accidentally reversed things, and has type 1 augs, with visibility 0. I just accidentally transposed the numbers.

These were never supposed to be on those items.
