      Other Topics to Consider

Aside from Poision Making, some other topics to consider:

      (1) Relative difficulty of DoN Master Tailor ingredients.

Specifically, why some races, such as Half-Elves/Halflings/Iksar need Great Reptile Hides. GRH are such a rare drop in CT many have said it is over a 1:2000 drop. Personally, I killed there for 5+ hours nonstop and never saw one. Only other option is getting access to VP (unlikely for the intended Master armor audience), not doing quests, losing dragon faction and killing there.

Other races, such as Vahshir and Woodelves use Shissar Scales, which drop in non-keyed zones with significantly higher drop rates, and easier mobs.

Proof is in bazaar prices. 3k+ for a GRH and under 100pp for a SS.

It would be nice if these were off similar mobs/zones and fellow tradeskillers of different races could help each other out. Combines currently are nowhere close to relative difficulty.

      (2) Cultural Armor

With every new expansion, is there going to be a MDS/Hide/etc recipe substitute that can be used so that cultural can continue to be made without having to go back to old expansions?

If there will be no substitutes, perhaps someone could look into the drop rate relative now to the number of groups actually doing the missions and the relative inflow of items. MDS's were selling for 22k just a few months ago and are now 32k and very hard to come by, good luck finding a GKH.

      (3) Symbol Market

Most of the symbols on the market are coming from those whose quests involve killing mobs in Stillmoon. Other races require either Thundercrest or Lavaspinners, zones that you have to bribe people to come to for the low crystals/lack of items. I have people that ask for GM armor + symbols, but I have to tell them no on the symbols because it took 7+ hours in Lavaspinners for my groups due to horrible drop rates and saving them all for guild.

Could someone look into an alternate option that for all races for killing the required mobs/getting the drops in the Nest? This way it is fair to everyone and steers everyone to a higher end zone versus bottom feeding. Would be even better if option was also in next expansions and all through similar zone so "Creator effect" doesn't happen again.

      (4) Bazaar

Bazaar needs at least 2 of every tradeskill combine container. There is no brew barrel. Also, it seems there are people that love to open the containers up and go AFK for hours, forcing you to zone into PoK lagfest when you need to do a quick combine for a sale.

      (5) Acrylia / Black Acrylia Weapons

It was nice addition to game when Velium weapons could be turned into Small Brick of Velium Ore. Any chance we could see the same with turning Acrylia Weapons into a Small Brick of Acrylia Ore and Black Acrylia Weapons into Small Black Brick of Acrylia Ore?

Personally, I don't feel that is a good idea. And here's why: raiders often use the arguement that if you want to raid, you put the time/effort into raiding (usually at the exclusion of much of anything else.) For instance, if I have 4 hours of playtime 3 times per week, and I want to raid, then I will be raiding during most/all of that time.

Allowing raiders to have access to an alternative on those quests is akin to allowing tradeskillers to "make" a key to raiding zones, along with the equipment to allow them to survive there. You're already getting a benefit from being in those zones (better xp, better gear, etc.)

I understand how hard it is to get people to go "back" to content. But, it's no easier for lower end people to do the same. /shrug

Also, you have to account for the number of slots -- a mixing bowl only has four slots, for example, so if you wanted to just put raw ingredients in there, you'd be limited to making CE two at a time.
Or we could just say that doing an entire stack in one shot is not a shortcut for mxing all 20 at once in the bowl, but for doing 20 combines of regular single mix combines. Could even make the combine button grey-out somehow for the normal amount of time x20. Saves the clicking but keeps the "entering the word rate."

EDIT: An even better and simpler method would be an internal macro that just did 20 single combines in normal time as if I were clicking the combine & autoinventory buttons. Takes the same amount of time, but I only have to click once instead of 40 times (combine + autoinv) for CE.

That said, the last Dev comment on allowing multiple CE combines was "No."

Make your trader a shaman, level to 9 and you have gate (bind on trader/barter spot) and sow. Or just get the fabled J-boots for your trader .

                Here's one I *really* want:

Hotkeyable combine button for the active open tradeskill contianer in tradeskill UI mode (since only one of those can be open) so I can use my finger on the keyboard to do a combine instead of the mouse.

You underestimate my laziness. I should make a lvl 9 shaman, so I can sow to get to the new, proposed portal, run and get the thing from/sell the thing to the person, and then gate back =D

It occurs to me I didn't post the final questions yet. Here's the Word document I'll be taking with me. It's what I sent to the devs. As always, I believe it's virus free, but be sure to scan it before opening it.

I read it and it looks good. On the /buyer's subject, what about increasing the maximum number of buy lines to 80 (instead of 50) to match the 80 slots allowed for /trader's?

                      • I can't remember where I saw reference to it, but I thought there was talk of making character armor appearance customizable.

                        What if..

They retroactively changed class armor to be similar to the DoN cultural, where it had mediocre stats without the appropriate augs. Then add the appropriate class specific, progression specific augs to bring it to the appropriate power for that level of progression.

For example, Woven Shadow armor is the rogue class specific armor from the Plane of Hate. Granted it quite old, but the look remains largely unique -- plate look for a chain class, with the Mrylokar armor of Kunark differing in essentially tint, and stats. Arguably, Plane of Hate armor is more difficult to obtain than all but the chest and legs armor of Kunark. Could they unify these armor sets, and differentiate by adding a class specific, progression specific augs to these now antiqued sets?

It might be nice to be able to wear Woven Shadow or Mrylokars for asthetics, but remain functional by using class specific augs from later points of progression (or diety specific, level appropriate augs in absence of progression specific) that add the appropriate stats, hp/mana/end, bonus ac, and other effects -- even if suffering a *slight* AC/hp/end penalty for using the older, lower base-AC/hp/end armor. Some might prefer different armor sets, like the leather look, such as Haze Panther/Tigeraptor tailored sets from Velious. Others are ok with the the traditional chain look, and it's minor variants. Of course, Id hope this carried over to the other class specific sets too, but only to class specific armor sets. There should still be unique items that offer a non-class specific alternative, better or worse, to the class specific within a point of progression and those items should be marginalized by later points of progression.

Those who already possess the armor would have the class specific, progression specific augs preinstalled from the factory, but new drops/acquisitions would not. As far as rarity of drop between armor and associated class/progression aug, I am on the fence. At this point, most people who would go for a retro look would prefer the armor itself be more common; however, from a timesink perspective, it should probably be that armor is the rarer of the two. From an economical standpoint, if the augs are more rare, it provides tradeskillers with a better opportunity sell crafted augs.

Perhaps this would infringe too much on the market of tradeskilled armors, but I think there is room for middle ground for both maintaining the ease of access to armors via tradeskills, while offering some opportunity to revitalize usefulness and desirability of old content, if even only marginally.

I dont know about the tayloring part but making 2 or more races share 6 mobs in a non flagged zone is insane . Not to be insulting to any of the developers, but do they still play the game? I am in a guild that is in Tacvi, and there is a very short list of people even flagged for VP(4 at last count).. This is where the tables list Great reptile tooth as dropping more common, than PoNightmare.

Some of us belong to guilds that want no part in trashing faction, or doing things that are 3-4 exspansions old that are not going to be upgrading anyone..

I mean I have farmed for 5-6 hours one day to get 2 drops. Many here will attest to the GM parts dropping a lot more offen then the master lvl parts and that is just silly. I have managed to all but stop making Master lvl things as the reality of pricing, and or finding componetes is just not in the game. I also have quit smithing alltogether as "Fun" is now evolved in to "Fustration".

Sorry if this sounded like a rant it was not ment to, but could someone please look in to this? It makes me kind of sad that Not all the races were not even alowed to progress in game the same.
