  • New test/trophy questions

I've tried looking around gathering info on this but haven't been having much luck.

If I already have a trophy, do I have to destroy it and make a new one (since it's lore) as part of the test?

What skill levels are required to get the various levels of the test?

Does the trophy you get start evolved level 1 or does the evolved level depend on the level of the test?

If the starting level of the trophy does depend on the level of the test, what level does a master's test give?

Here's part of the scenario that I've got. My ogre is currently 260 in smithing with a bunch of MCSs in his future. I've been planning on getting the 10% belt from Seru for him, but if I can get his new trophy and skill it up at the same time as building base skill, I'd rather shoot two gnomes with one stone. Will that work? Or do I have to get to skill 300, then get master level trophy, then repeat MCSs all ovre again?

Only one I can answer is about your current trophy. answer is no. You can hand it to the person giving the quest to get credit for making it.

Actually, just noticed they've already got a write up at http://www.eqtraders.com/articles/ar...p?article=q224 that covers a bunch of this stuff.

Sounds nice that I don't need to remake my old trophy again. That's a relief.

NO! Just show it to Baublie and she will credit you as having done that portion of the task. When the time comes you will have to hand it to the Judge.

What skill levels are required to get the various levels of the test?
        1. Beginner (50-99)
        2. Apprentice (100-149)
        3. Freshman (150-199)
        4. Journeyman (200-249)
        5. Expert (250-299)
        6. Master (300)
        7. Grandmaster (evolves from Master Trophy)

Does the trophy you get start evolved level 1 or does the evolved level depend on the level of the test?
If you have 250 skill and do the Expert level task, you get a level 1 trophy plus a certificate. Equip the trophy in Primary or Secondary slot, then combine the certificate all by itself in the appropriate tradeskill container (ex: for smithing, combine it in a forge). The level 1 trophy will be auto-evolved into an Expert (level 5) trophy

If the starting level of the trophy does depend on the level of the test, what level does a master's test give?
At 300 skill, a level 6 trophy. At that point you will have to evolve it to level 7 by doing (and succeeding on) combines with a higher than 300 trivial.

Your Ogre would get a level 5 trophy, and as long as the MCS combines trivials are no higher than 100 points above your skill (currently your skill = 261 thus the combines you can use to evolve trophy would be between 262 and 361 trivial), yes, you can kill 2 birds with one stone, and level up the trophy to level 6...and then once at 300, to level 7.

Some folks might counsel you to wait till 300 skill and get the level 6 trophy, and THEN do your combines to level the trophy to level 7.

        Only you can decide.

I have myself been debating to get 300, and then get prophy, or the other way around. I am at 289 skill atm.

With the current requirement of making shadowscream for expert trphy, I am much favoring getiing 300 skill first.

I dont see why you would not want CT stuff in the expert trophy. With a 295 trivial it fits in there very well. Especially witn the way sauccess rates work, with 250 skill, old trophy and no AAs you are looking at 92% success on CT stuff, so its not like its har to make.

One word of warning about turning in your trophy for the new one. If you have an augment on it, you will get a warning that you will lose the augment when you turn it in. This includes the step where you turn it in to the event coordinator for the verification. So I would suggest taking out the augment before handing it to the coordinator for verification. Luckily most of the augments were junk so I just destroyed them since I will have to turn it back in to the judge.
