  • Partial compilation of racial tradeskill data

Started compiling racial tradeskill data from eqrankings.com

I didn't get to finish because I'm out of time to play around with data for a while, but should be easy for anyone that would actually use this info to compile it for themselves.

    Barbarians -- 7216 total profiles
    gm baker - 91
    gm tailor - 11
    gm smith - 38
    gm fletcher - 5
    gm brewer - 75
    gm jeweler - 46
    gm potter - 38
    master artisan - 4

Dark Elf -- 9508 total profiles
    gm baker - 123
    gm tailor - 12
    gm smith - 47
    gm fletcher - 4
    gm brewer - 99
    gm jeweler - 127
    gm potter - 46
    master artisan - 3

    Dwarf -- 4688 total profiles
    gm baker - 57
    gm tailor - 3

    gm fletcher - 2
    gm brewer - 56

    Erudite -- 3790 total profiles
    gm baker - 70
    gm tailor - 11
    gm smith - 16
    gm fletcher - 2
    gm brewer - 65
    gm jeweler - 92
    gm potter - 33
    master artisan - 2

    Wood Elf -- 9152
    gm baker - 196
    gm tailor - 59
    gm smith - 72
    gm fletcher - 207
    gm brewer - 161
    gm jeweler - 110
    gm potter - 85
    master artisan - 44

    Ogre -- 3043
    gm baker - 16
    gm tailor - 2
    gm smith - 12
    gm fletcher - 0
    gm brewer - 13
    gm jeweler - 11
    gm potter - 8
    master artisan - 0

This is fairly distressing to me. About a year ago the tradeskill cap was raised to 300. You'd think that would be enough time that someone other than wood elves would be able to get fletching to 300. But not a single ogre has managed it, myself included.

If I get some more time, I'll compile the rest of the races and post them here too. Preliminary data shows that tunare & karana followers have more GM fletchers and more Master Artisans than all other races combined. Does this seem right to you?

Worse yet.... there are more skill 300 wood elf fletchers than skill 300 at any other tradeskill. Does this seem right that fletching is the easiest tradeskill for wood elves but the hardest trade skill for everyone else?

AFAIK the tailoring issues are not being adressed in the expansion, so this data will be interesting from a tailoring point of view. Thanks for the good work Bolas.

I am surprised that the issues haven't already been addressed merely by an increase in the drop rates for girplan feathers, dragorn wing bones, and drake spikes. As far as I can tell, the arrows these make aren't all that powerful that they are in any way game unbalancing, and if you want to actually be able to SHOOT arrows at things, it'd be nice if the arrows didn't cost 1000 plat each.

Tailoring still looks to be a bit unbalanced as well. 59 wood elves compared to 12 dark elves, when there are more people that play dark elves than wood elves?

And I haven't seen the changes for PoR fletching, so I'm witholding judgement on if it's going to fix it or not. Assuming that it will, I'm looking forward to that.

I'd like to see a modifier on EP bows that gives a min chance to skill up of 10%, and a modifier on nightmare bows that gives a min chance to skill up of 5%. That and increasing the drop rate of the OoW arrow components would solve fletching issues for all classes. But perhaps just some new recipies for fletching would do the trick.

I honestly believe that the fletching GM trophy should not be the preferred skill-up path for 282+ fletching.

Your compilation from eqrankings won't be entirely accurate, because not everyone is listed at eqrankings. I, myself, have never visited that site. My magelo is also slightly out of date, because I only update it every 2 or 3 months.

if you have the right access, eqplayers should probably give you a much more accurate listing. I am aware that you can opt out of the leadership rankings, but a system that requires people to opt out, will be much more accurate that one that requires opting in.

I update my sig once in a while (weekly usually) and I plan to get both smithing and tailoring to 300 one way or another. Maybe pottery and fletching just for kicks but JC defiantly won;t see an increase past 200 for a while if ever.

              BTW my main is barbarian.
