Jade Shard

G'day all,

Hmm, been suppling a guildy with Jade shards for some Journeyman armour and recently have found that Jade shards are hard to find at all. Either vendor mined or otherwise. (Actually, this has been since the changes to Crystalized sulfur that makes that drop all over the place like crazy.)

I was just wondering how everyone else is doing for farming Jade shards? The last mention of them I can find on the boards looks like last July.

I still find 1 or 2 when vendormining, but keep in mind that the longer we have been waiting for a patch, the more junk fills up merchant's inventories, so that may be one reason they are scarce on merchants...

As for hunting, since I find 'em on Shadowhaven merchants a lot, I assume they drop in Paludal or Echo Caverns ... I should probably go AE in those zones to test my theory, but that might annoy the newbs

Well, I know they are a random drop. I've looted them in almost any zone I've been in. Generally I've been able to vendormine in Kelethin, sometimes Kaladim and often on Wayfarer's Magus. I just haven't seen any recently... like the last month. :/

I have seen some, in fact I scooped a coupel off a merchant just yesterday.

I know I got quite a few in Twilight Sea from the elementals when I was farming for temper components. Found some on the merchants there as well.

While doing some farming for aura stones yesterday, I had two Jade Shards drop one after another off the season type guardians in the Ruins of Takish'Hiz (Lifestone Guardian of Spring, etc.). Might be a nice set of mobs to farm. You can duo them with any dps and a healer.

Was farming some Gargoyle eyes for a froggy friend in the courtyard of Mistmoore Castle and had 3 jade shards drop in 5 rounds of clearing the trash mobs. All that is needed is someone with about 400 points of AE DD and a brave or temped lowbie to pull everything at once...

I had two drop during a Takish-Hiz aura mission also. It was The Burning Prince.

When I used to farm the orc miners in the Crystal Caverns for velium, I remember quite a few of those jade shards dropping from them. They also used to show up on the NPC vendors in the dwarven town in the same zone. If you don't mind travelling a bit out of the way, you might wish to give this place a try.
