  • Biggest P.O. of a while

Just did the expert baking test, and have to say I have not been this irked about tradeskills since I last decided to put em down.

Do the test, which requires me to hand in my old trophy, and what do I get in return? An evolving trophy whose stats are not as good as the trophy I just lost, and summons bags that are not as good as the last bags (only 75%).

Oh well, guess that is just another loss. (note the sarcasm).

But at least the tradeskill mod went up.

    • Ngreth,

I just made my Expert level (Level 5) Fletching Trophy. My base skill is 270.

I'm a tad disappionted in the significant lose of CHA and other stats on the Level 5 trophy at this base skill versus the original GM Fletcher's Knife. It went down from +50 CHA to +33 CHA at level 5... I had been using this to equip for buying and selling stuff.

The Str, Wis and Int also went down from +10 to +7...

Can you adjust these so it is at least the same as the old trophy for level 5? To me this would seem fair since the trophies were first introduced when the max tradeskill level was 250. So I would think that at a 250 level the Stat mods should be the same....

The Fletching Mod went from +5% to +8% for starting though....

      Thanks.

      • AaldayinOfBrell, did you use the certificate like the text told you to? It should have evolved to at least 5%. Master is 12%.

Edit: looking at the post above me yours should be 8%...

        • Beginner lvl Brewer trophy

One of the items listed is Fizzle Pop. There are two items in the game with names like this. One has a trival of 162, and the other requires an ingrediant that is not in the game. aerated mineral water. any one have a third option for completing this?

          • Everything is exactly how you said it... 8%, but that was the only increase... everything else was decreased, a little disappointing.

            • I want to apologize

I know my post above was a little harsh.

I am always happy to see more recipes and changes to the tradeskill system that will benefit all.

I was just disappointed and upset to do the test and find out that the trophy whose stats I actually did use, and the bags it summoned that I use on a daily basis (as in every bag except the Carry-All and Satchel of Abu-Kar) have been downgraded.

The improvement in mod is definitely appreciated, but the rest of it was a downgrade I wouldn't have taken just yet had I known.

              • I love these changes...My only complaint is that BestBuy does not get new shipments until Thursday

Definitely buying this expansion and many thanks to Ngreth, Nolrog, Tank, Maddoc and all the other devs...very nice stuff in this expansion!

                  • AWESOME - HAVENT HAD SO MUCH TS FUN IN LONG TIME!!!! This was a great idea...Got heaps done before server down...will have all of them done when back up. Figured out the Certs - worked well for my 300 levels and not bad for the non 300 (JC Tailoring Fletching - Expert levels popped me at 5/7 8% mod - better then before so no complaints).

As for the bags having a surprise in them - havent seen any surprise yet - I miss something?

EDIT: NM reread rest of postings - Ok got all the GM Trophies - anyone got a clue what this lil surprise is? Trying heaps of things atm - n now i get to stew for 2 hours till servers come back up :P

                    • Well done, Ngreth!

Did my new Master Brewer Trophy, and a couple of the Jewelery ones across a couple of characters. The quests were quite nice. Luckily, someone in the guild is as much of a packrat as me and had a few black pearls in the bank, so I could bang out the Jeweler trophy pretty fast.

The 12% mod on the Master's Brewer is very nice too, and I've already worked on starting to evolve it. (by the way, took 20 combines of Kaladim Constitutionals to evolve 1%). Thats with an unmodified skill of 300. Waiting to find some of the higher level combines to do to see how fast/well it evolves.

Time to start farming for the master baking trophy (hero parts.. blah!), and for my gnome for the tinkerer one (severed feran tentacle). Because a level 38 just can't handle a feran without becoming a grease spot

                      • Personally, I would like the see the hammer, shears, robe, belt ect..be as special as they were before this expansion. Since they have 15 and 10 percent mods, are they going to be upgraded to 25 and 20 percent mods? I spent countless hours aquiring these items for others and myself, I now feel that my time was wasted.
How was your time wasted? Did you have fun getting them? Did you use them for countless combines? All items, even unique items depreciate due to expansions.

Yes, but they came pre-filled up with bags of various items.

The surprise is that each one summons a temp bag that can be turned in to Jolum for a Master Artisan Essence. This essence can be combined in an appropriate container (oven/spit for baking, forge for smithing, etc.) If you have the new trophy (BEFORE you evolve it, according to the text), you will get a new permanent bag. It's the same as the Grandmaster's Carry-All, except that there is one for each tradeskill now...so the LORE aspect is much better.

The one I have is the Master Baker Carry-All, btw.

                            • I guess I am just not as excited about the new quests/trophies. My only real skill is tailoring with a current skill of 250. The combines seem to be somewhat of a PITA and am surprised at my skill level I would need to make the old trophy - something with a triv in the ~340 range and was only done at my level because the old cap was 250 when it was introduced. On top of that when I actually get the old trophy I lose 30% of its stats and gain what? By my count I get:

                              1) a glow effect similar to the new years item that I must cast...and probably has a cast time - used 0 times to date,
                              2) a 100% wt redx bag - granted monks, MAYBE silk classes, and MAYBE smiths or similar trade skills will get full use out of this. As a 70 non-raiding, mostly baz geared Bst I walk around at capped str with only self buffs and that is w/o direct str buffs. To put this in perspective I have been known to walk around for weeks with multiple disenchanted mage bags simply because the wt doesn't matter. Am not saying this doesn't have value but the value is....meh. If you can get the wt redux bag with the 50 skill trophy then yes that has MUCH more value.
                              3) 3% mod to my current geerlock - make it 200% skill rate /shrug I am already up against the hard cap for DoN combines (ok I need two more points for 252 - unless the math is all wrong). The combines other then DoN or the odd quest or two for tailors have effectivly 0 value in terms of sellability, vendor fodder, or tribute value (again correct me if I am wrong). To get the trophy at a lower level means I would equip my 50p geerlock anyway.

Am not trying to be overly negative, I am just trying to understand/get a realistic picture of what we have here. No doubt there is a fun factor to this; probably moreso for those with multiple or have done all the trade skills. But here is the thing - for all the people who are so hiped up about it you have completed what appears to be the biggest draw to PoR from a TS perspective in a matter of hours.

On the note of bank space - can everyone do feedback on the layout of the additional space? I mean come on, put it square with the space we already have.

                              • Taiglin - your post reeks of someone who doesnt care about Tradeskilling then.

First off all geerloks are 5% mod :P. Secondly - You only make GM items it seems - so yeh you dont see the point - wouldnt need to cause the - /cough Nyg dont be mad at me - Devs farked up with the purity of Trivial/Skill relationship and made a Hard Cap ( Devs take notice of this post this is what you get when you make Hard Caps - I dont need to do more cause well Im maxed success at like 50 points below where I should be normally to do this combine and your new toys which would normally help me skill atm wont cause well its HARD CAPPED - dont need to work harder for better successes)

Rest of us do it for fun or pure stupidty (still deciding on which personally atm). Lots of sarcasm in this post - TS and the new trophies arent for everyone - looks like your one - its all about what you like in the game and what you use it for.
