  • Hmm... my best guess on the new trophy skill bags "bonus" would be... the new bags are not temporary or lore (just no trade). I don't really remember from beta (if they were even in their final state during beta)

      • I'd just like to thank Ngreth...

Thanks for bucking the current trend in EQ development, which seems to be to make entire expansions obsolete by releasing items that are far better and easier to get than their predesessors. By capping these uber trophies' mods at 15%, you retained the value of the previous 15% raid obtained items. I'm happy I'll get to continue to appreciate taking the effort spent in obtaining my VT research robe, Akheva shears, Tinkering robe, and XTC hammer instead of just bagging them for sentimental reasons. By matching (instead of exceeding) the highest mod I think you satisfied everyone.

        • Old Mod Items

Personally, I would like the see the hammer, shears, robe, belt ect..be as special as they were before this expansion. Since they have 15 and 10 percent mods, are they going to be upgraded to 25 and 20 percent mods? I spent countless hours aquiring these items for others and myself, I now feel that my time was wasted.

          • Just a quick question here.

I noticed the level 6 / 7 new trophy quests mention that they require (or at least make it easier) if you have an old style Trophy.

What about Tinkering and Research? Perviouslt those did not have a trophy, will a geerlok or some other artifice work?

Except you have had them for years now, while many people will still have to do a quest and hundreds of combines to get a 15% item.

I have a VP quest shield in the bank right now. I spent many hours doing that quest. I now use a 1-group DoD mission drop that took 90 minutes.

My coldain prayer shawl is in the bank too, that took a lot of time. It's not going to be upgraded.

You can't expect old content items to get upgraded whenever something new comes along years later.

                Tinkering has a trophy. http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_...r=080120000000

Research just has a few extra combines to make up for the lack of trophy (make 2 of a few things instead of just 1 of a few things)

                • Question about the expansion

Since I have been away from EQ for more than a year, I do not have the other expansions and I definately want to make these, so I will be getting the expansion. However, can I get this expansion before the others? Do I have to buy any previous ones to install this one? I do download all of the files, and it is just a matter of time before I buy them all, but I don't want to buy this one if it is not going to work until I buy the intermediate expansions!

                  Thanks!

Check into Everquest Titanium. From what I understand it is 10 expansions for $19.99 and can be added to an existing account. The 10 expansions are all the ones previous to PoR.

                    • Ngreth did an excellent job with the tradeskill aspects of this expansion.

For those with an old trophy fret not for the upper end quests on Beta used that recipe but did not require you to remake it. I forget now whether it was actually consumed when you hand it in for credit.

Also, when you reach 300 skill, or if you are already 300 skill. It is not a simple go hail an npc and poof you have a trophy. The little halfling lady with her erudite judge make you PROVE your skill. It is a well designed process imo.

I caught 1 fish in Beta that weighed 25lbs, so sticking that sucker in the bait dispenser should have a nice yield.

Ngreth had every level of every trophy tested out on beta to make sure the combines worked and changed a few during the process based on feedback from the tradeskill community in beta.

New brewing/baking items with stats that bring back the glory days of PoP baking stats (/cheer). Been very sad to see expansions only come out with lower stat items. Thanks for the change.

                            • pretty sure the mod doesn't stack like they don't stack if you equip the geerlok item and trophy item.

Where is the gnome exactly I want to trade in 2 of my trophy. Also does the new trophy have a clicky 100% WR bag like the old one?

                              • The HALFLING is in the northern side of the Freeport newbie yard. She gives a quest, where you have to make things, for the new trophy. It's not just a trade-in.

And each new trophy summons temporary bags, each of which can be turned in for a Master Artisan Essence, which can be combined alone in an appropriate container (oven for baking, etc) for a LORE permanent bag...similar to before. The difference is that the permanent bags are different for each tradeskill now (different names...otherwise, the same.)
