  • Audio triggers and tradeskills

Wondering if anyone has come up with a use for audio triggers in relation to trade skills. I do have mine to say "inconceivable" from the Princess Bride when I fail a combine but was thinking more proactively useful. Even if I had to manually do it I would love it if I could make an audio trigger for all the TS stuffs you are looking for that would go off say when you opened a merchant window. Can that be done....and done without clicking every item on the merchant (which would generate a line of text)? I guess if you were looking for say spell research items you could plug in which ones you could use and do some targeted clicking on the merchant. Of course they would go off when someone loots something you need which would be helpful for late night or long play sessions.

Also wondering if anyone has found where those lines of code live. Looked for them in my character ini but didn't see em.

A good one would be applause when you skilled up.

        I have them triggered for...

        skill up
        skill success
        skill failure

(doing a long run you switch to the set that only has what you are looking for)

You could easily put just the name of what you are looking for (correctly spelled) on it's own trigger, then anytime ANYONE says that (looting / selling at a vendor) you would get the trigger to go of.

As for "can you have the trigger go off by opening the merchant who happens to have it so I don't have to click around looking for stuff" .. No. You can't automate vendor diving with audio triggers (unless the vendor happens to offer it to you, but that's extremely unlikely)

You can sort vendor lists by item name. Sort by name and scroll down looking for stuff is your best bet.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

Well I do have a few triggers set up and one of them does involve Tradeskills. Its for forage.

          Basically
          /Doability 1 (Forage)
          /Autoinventory
          /pause 900
          ;tell drinal.Raolinx Times up.
(the name is mine so basically sednding a cross server tell back to myself so I dont spam people with say or even emotes.)

Audio trigger is activated by the Times up message. This lets me know when Forage is ready to work again.

          Rao
          Rao's gear

Retired from EQ on or around Septemeber 06.

          Harp's gear

PS. Molto Has retired. EQ2 has lured core group away.

I quit the game I loved because it wasn't anymore. Guilds allowing farmers in because they could do a lot of damage in raids.
SoE not really doing anything about farmers, macroquesters ect.
Still Some of my favorite times spent online happened in Norath. The friends and mobs I remember fondly.

If you have salvage you might want to have a trigger for failing, but salvaging that one (or more) item that you are interested (hard to get or valuable) in tracking.

I have a clip of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus which plays whenever I get a skillup.

                Audio Triggers Suggestions

I'm a big fan of audio triggers in the game. My poor gnome has items for jewelry, tinkering and research .

                Skill increases
When I'm skilling up I like to know when I get a skill increase since I'm blindly doing the combines so I ding a nice sound for each skill increase message. It's a feel good thing to hear those skill ups.

                Failures
It's good to know if a combine fails so I have a bad sound for failures

                Items dropping to the ground?
Inventory full? Items dropping to the ground? Nice to have that audio clue.

buying stuff and your inventory is full
Silmilar to above, nice to have a ding to tell you your purchase failed.

                Out of money?
I don't have one for this but it sounds good. You want to buy supplies and don't have enough money.

I was just thinking today that my rogue needed a new audio trigger when she's successful in intimidating something. I might have to use this one
