  • tradeskill equipment idea...

Just wondering (maybe a dev could respond) why we could have collapsed tailoring kits, forges, etc...?

And for the ones for cultural why couldn't we hand them to a gnome with components to make them into a collapible version?

Just some thoughts. <-- thinking bank space

As a friendly reminder -- asking any of the SoE devs who read here to respond is a no-no. To give you some perspective; imagine you're a medical doctor, seeing hundereds of patients a week in a busy hospital. You get invited to a party at a mutual friend's house. As soon as you arrive, the guests all begin hitting you up for medical advice and free health care.

That's why we ask that you not direct questions to the SoE devs who happen to visit here.

If you must have an official response, then you're best off going to SoE's message boards. Otherewise, consider it a happy event if one does respond to you here.

Since cultural forges were mentioned...why aren't the cultural forges visually different from the others. They were once upon a time...

Would be nice if the guild hall forges/looms could handle cultural and tanaan stuff as well. I just hate preparing my AAAA tinkerer for movement when I gather enough Yttrium to do a skillup run...unload/swap bags, get Str buffs, etc and run to Ak'Anon just to use a forge that looks exactly like the one next to it but does more (wtf) then run back to GH and set up shop again.

There are collapsible tailoring kits. http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_...r=035000000000

At this point there will be no portable forge of any type, much less a fordable one.

The cultural forges always looked the same, but it USED to say what forge it is when you opened it. It is a bug I have open for Code (nothing I can do to fix it) but they have not gotten around to it. And currently I cannot get art assets to make another forge look.

I will not be making special collapsible objects for the cultural kits. Giving them to gnomes is no longer your culture. (though who knows... I could make the gnome ones colapsible... since it would be their culture) If you really want to make them smaller tokenized them if there are any that currently cannot be tokenized I will see about that if you let me know.

Would it be possible to use the DoN-style forge look for cultural forges? It's the one used in the bazaar and the guild hall. That would make them stand out in most cities.

I'm guessing the new forge graphic is zone set. ie, if in a new zone use "New_forge.3ds" for any "forge" object. In older zones it uses "Old_forge.3ds" for "forge" objects. No zone I can think of has both models loaded.

I haven't poked around at the files, but I do know they can import NPC models from other zone files. It may be possible to import zone objects in a similar manner, but I can't think of any examples of that off hand.

DOH, I hope for something and end up giving to the gnomes!

Well, the forge thing could get really confusing with the updated zones they are doing now. They may put the new forge in Freeport which would mean you still couldn't tell the difference. I think the name fix would be the best solution.

Just an FYI currently the Tailoring Cultural Kits are "TRADABLE'. This means I could actually give it to a gnome. Now why would I would be a good question, and I do understand your point.

But then again Alchemy is a "Shaman" only trade but anyone in tailoring can make Medicine Bags and Folding Medicine bags......

                Just another thought....

As for a dev responding, I wasn't actually meaning to imply that a dev "should reply". Was more hoping just for a hint to maybe read the post. I've avoid comments in the future.
