I have 2 of these items that appear to be stackable and are the exact same name, but I can't get them to stack. Anybody know why? Should I try and identify them?

There are 10 different Mechanoinstruction Scraps, and each uses the same icon. As I understand it, when identified, they have different lettering which combine together to spell... something I've forgotten.
