    *** Tradeskills ***

    - Fixed a tradeskill exploit.

    ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~

While, naturally, we can't and don't expect an official comment on the matter, the players may mull and speculate...

My theory is that... one scent of marr and one celestial solvent combined to make not one... but... wait for it... wait for it... omg... a stack of celestial essence. And when the devs found out they cried, "Ueber 133tz0r haxx0r!!!1111 That's ruining the game and is in direct conflict with the Vision (tm). Have to emergency patch this stat! Bring the servers down for a "scheduled" patch at the usual time!"

The trouble is, if someone can make a combine that sells for more than the cost of the components, then 'someone' will write a script to exploit this.... Then the plat selling companys set loads of these scripts running..... These kinds of problems are what messed up the economy so much a while ago.

Saying that, with the ammount of celestial essence that we tradeskillers use, I for one would pay extra for the components if one combine would yeald a stack of essences!

      maybe a new combine ----->

Scent of Marr (or whatever) + A Jug of celestial solvent = (stack) of CE

Where the 'jug of' costs 20 times more than regular solvent.

      Keep on skilling guys!

        Wondering about Success Calculator

Wow - I was wondering why celestial essence was suddenly so easy to buy.

I was hoping maybe they'd also look into the success rate on some cultural. Since the patch my success rate on GM Chest Augs has been only 35% - that is over 11 combines! And I lost a GM Chest Armor combine - only 1 tried of course. Given that my tailoring is at 295 and Mastery is at 3, my success rate just should not be that low. I know you can have runs of bad luck but I've been getting absolutely paranoid about trying any more 388-triv combines. Losing 10 glossy hides in a 2-week period has made me suddenly poor.

Anyone else had the same experience?

I think Mith was being silly.

If that did happen it weas certainly a mistake... but it is not the one I fixed, nor the one someone else fixed. And the one I fixed I think went in the previous patch not this one.

Nope. No change there... still at the cap it has been for a while which is much greater than 35%. You have jsut had horrible luck.

Gosh I wish. I've been doing brewing (Kaladim Constitutional's) recently, and I've not had the pleasure of seeing one combine turn into 20 CEs (though I certainly would not mind.)

If this is the case, than I got ripped off. I made a lot of CEs to work up my smithing skill useing the Celestial Solvent + Scent of Marr (from PoK poison vendor) and they did not create stacks for me. I just got 1 CE from each combine. I think I will petition so I can get my rightful CEs =)

Ahhh, the jokes on me then. I usually buy CE on my buyer at 3 pp and still have to make several hundred a week, but this past week twice I've had my trader bags filled with peeps selling them so I haven't had to make any CE myself recently. So Mith's post actually seemed to make sense to me!

Maybe someone is scripting the combine just to make a couple of thousand plat selling me 800 CEs.

This was a make poison exploid quick fix that went pretty wrong. It has already been petitioned but for those who do not know yet: The combine to create a 10 dose Scoriae Bites (within a Summoned Coffin bottle) has been broken and will produce an empty 10-dose of Scoriae Bites. There was an exploid that allowed players to sell summoned poison that was pretty bad but the fix was really a bad one.

I did not mean to point to you as the source of the problem. Maybe rather as a potential future solution to it

The bad thing here is that it does affect the rogue fighting more than the tradeskill community. Rogues use the summoned poison often when we run out of tradeskilled poison (or if we wanna save the tradeskilled one for boss mobs or whatever). Poison does not last long (15mins), so we need a lot of it over time. Since the cast for the summoned poison is pretty long, it's hard to summon between fights (and even harder if the group is moving or the rogue needs to do the scouting while the others rest). Therefore we usually summon an reasonable amount of poison before the fighting starts. Since poison does not stack itself, the coffin bottle was the solution given to us.

So if possible try to sneak in the suggestion to make the result of the combine no drop again instead of a useless result. Thank you!
