    Something from Warhammer style.

Skaven, tunnels all over the old world, under the oceans and everywhere. Have been biding their time for centuries suddenly rise up all over the place.

Of course it couldn't actually be skaven but you get the idea.

Or simply add in those places that are missing from the map of Norrath...

    Odus:
The grand Plateau, The Vasty Deep, Gulf of Uzun, The Barren Coast.

    Antonica:
The Northlands, The Hatchland, Unkempt woods, the frigid plain, Winters Deep, Lake Neriuss, Serpents Spine, The Dead Hills, The Buried Sea.

    Faydwer:
Ranthoks Ridge, The Loping Plains, Hills of Shade, Wayunder Lake, Elizerain Lake, Dragonscale Hills.

    Kunark:
    Lake of Dismay, Dragon Drool.

Pretty sure thats all I can see on the map I got with my Velious box (way back when...). Still, thats a lot of potential places that could be added just filling in the gaps. (And incidentally looking at my map some of the places that join up in the game, actually shouldn't really - or at least not without some stuff in between) theres also a huge area on the north and on the south end of Velious with no name (and some kind of tower it looks like), and several rivers on Antonica that aren't represented in game, not to mention the vast areas of ocean between them that could be added in.

    Teir`Dal Overlord
    Officer, Trader and Gentleman
    Order of the Raven's Tear

It looks like kunark and velious will be getting the Treatment ie expansions built off of them. I forget where i saw it Though.

One thing that id like... a quest to make the shawl have more augment slots... like cultureal armors do,maybe the more slots the tougher the next step is..

Brell doesnt have to be involved just one of the quest npcs says they have discovered a way to make the shawl potentially more powerful... oh and add some more ac for rp saying the shawl needs to be strengthend to accomidate the augments...

I asked this question in the HoC chat the other night. However, that's not exactly what was said. They said they were already adding content to them.

That does not mean they will build expansions off them. Content is a very broad thing. There are monster missions, and Omens task masters and things like that which all qualify as "content". There was nothing in the reply that lead me to believe they would be building "land mass" off the expansion zones (land mass, that's what I should have said in my question. I'll ask it again next time.)

Ugh, two expansions I would rather see fall off of the face of Norrath. Even as a paladin with a bardspeed horse, those darn zones are way too big and way too annoying to cross. The best zones in there were Cobalt Scar and Sirens grotto as you were able to traverse them easily distance wise and it didn't take five minutes to do so.

Kunark...was just vast, with a lot of points to go for that 20k splat.

Pshhh! Try running from Halas to Freeport at level 14, without invisibility!

As if being no more than 6 zones from any given other zone (thanks to the PoK books) isn't enough, now the zones can't even be big? Norrath used to be a world you had to actually travel to get from point A to point B. To do it safely, you had to know it well. I spent loads of time in Kunark, but all my splats were my own silly fault for forgetting about a dropoff or not being careful enough in new territory.

Should I mention that I occasionally make the Halas to Freeport run again just for old time's sake? I do use my horse because I like riding her, but I'd do it without if I didn't have her. It reminds me of what it was like when time spent exploring the world made a difference, when there was more to playing than maximixing your gear and exp.

As for the original topic . . . I'd love to see the shawl quest continued. I've resisted some pretty tempting items that I could have swapped for my shawl. I'd love to be able to upgrade it.

I had more fun as a sub level 20 newb interacting with people and fishing while waiting for the boat than I've had in this game for quite some years.

The game feels more real if you're immersed in it. Being able to pop all over the place broke some of that immersion.

                      YMMV.

yea i agree event hough the boat gnomes stopped the boat patch stuff, i still enjoyed occasionaly rideing boats). i just wish there was more stuff to do on them, make it so offensive spells cant be cast over the bow somehow. I just wish i had been around when you could charm then Bardspeed the boats lol.

I've been playing EQ since December of 99, I remember how things were Verdandi. I also remember doing banded for sales. However, I hated the size of EW, DL, LoiL and many other zones back then, and even with a paladin horse and SoE, I still hate them. *shrugs* somethings will never change.

MPG is even a bare to deal with in terms of size, however since they added fixed invis, I do not mind it so much and it was good design to spread out exp groups. Most of the time in the old Kunark/Velious zones there was few safeish spots to hunt, thus the huge zone was 90% ungrouped, while 8 groups would side in 10% of the zone.

You want long runs... I've had to run from freeport to Chardok without books or ports before.

Fixed duration invis (at least the self only wizard/enchanter version) is Velious era.

Freeport to Chardok isn't all that bad... Freeport to Blackburrow for corpse recovery at level 10 with no SoW and no Invis... twice in one day... now THAT'S a long run.

Enough about the good/bad old days... ingore my crochety ramblings.
