I wanted to share my joy at completing the PotC earring quest with you guys. I told my guild and although they were supportive, they obviously really did not understand how much time and effort had gone into this.
About last June I happened across something about the Earring of Nature quest. I thought that sounded interesting, although at that time my only tradeskill was tailoring and patchwork armor had just become trivial. EQDruids pointed me to this site and I have been a regular user, if very infrequent poster, ever since.
I soon discovered I enjoyed doing tradeskills and while I never thought about the earring quest from time to time, my focus came to be raising tradeskills to make new items and figuring out how to go about turning the items into pp. Upon finding out I couldn't GM more than one skill with my druid, I revived some alts I had created and left in mothballs and set them to learning a variety of tradeskills.
Of course, many of my friends thought I'd gone crazy and chided me for not playing more for experience.
Amazingly, today I successfully made the mistletoe cutting sickle and with that, now have all nine gifts for the PotC quest. I did cheat by this much: a very good friend, a 55 chanter, makes distilled mana vials for me and also does the final combine for gem studded chains and for the fishing pole.
Other than that, though, I have made all the quest items myself with either Pennyrose or her alts. By myself, that is, with lots and lots of help from looking things up on this great site.
So HOORAY FOR ME and a great big THANK YOU for all of you who volunteer the time and energy to run this site and/or to answer questions posted here.
