i know this isn't anything interesting or important but would anybody else be interested in having the prices lsited on the container recipe lsit? for example if you open the fletching kit at a vendor and lick on class 1 arrow it would tell you above the recipe lsit that it would cost you 24cp or something liek that? jsut seems like a convience tool when trying to determine skill up paths. make it based off the persons current cha wiht modifiers of course

*screams*Originally posted by GreymantleNice idea but its more complex that that. Faction also effects price. So would be extreamly difficult to implement.

That functionality is one thing I really like about the Clockwork Tinkering Guide. As for variability... just assume indif faction and max cha (plateaus ~120), *shrug* Still gives a baseline for comparison, which I think is the point.
As to whether Ngreth and Mum have the time or the inclination to do that... that's another matter

I think Yurien is talking about in-game functionality, but even then, the devs would run into the same issues that plagued Ngreth a few months ago when he considered doing essentially the same thing for EQTC here. Simply put, how do you value components that are drop-only or forage-only, and not purchased by a merchant? How do you value no-drop components? How do you account for pricing variation due to faction and charisma? Several little niggles like that eventually scuttled the project, and I suspect the same would happen if the Sony devs tried to do something similar within EQ.Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade

The way the CTG handled those was simply to put the prices of vendor things only. I actually like their setup, where vendor purchases are standard text and drops/subcombine results are in bold. They also assume indif+ faction and 120+ cha, which are pretty safe assumptions.
In the end, it's not as precise as to be ideal, but it helps provide a frame of reference. I know I found it really useful on the CTG.

The effect of the affect is rather disturbing; as to where the aware wererats ran warily, verily, they're over there with their food, and rate to have ate two of the eight great crackers too, to wit.
(Yes, I know it's "eaten".)
