Stone and Sand Snake Sheddings

Looking for some input on places to farm these rare pieces of the Epicthiek's Edification Edition quest. A super nice person on my server showed me the 2 Silverfins in Corathus that can drop the Stone Sheddings and I know that teh Snapjaw Mocassins in Undershore can drop Sand snake pieces, but there has to be more. That's about 2 mobs in each zone that can possibly drop a rare shedding and we need 5 of each? Surely there is somewhere else. Last pieces I need to complete this quest.

I know some of the snakes in Undershore can drop them. I got one in about 20 kills and said screw it. BUT they do indeed drop. Hope you have better luck than I did.

Snapjaw Moc. can spawn in many places in undershore. The various swimming snakes and spiders seem to share the same spawn table....with some spawns also occasionally spawning a basilisk. The Bog snakes on land seem to be sand snakes altho a friend said he got a green snake egg from one of them as well.

Killed the 2 Stone Snake mob phs in Corathus maybe 30 times tonight....not 1 drop.

Had a couple of top guildmates help me clear Snapjaws and PHs in Undershore for 2 hours tonight. Killed a bunch of random mobs and 20 or so Snapjaws....not 1 drop.

Are we missing something?

Edit: a Male Darkhollow Redback dropped a Sand Snake Shedding. Only place I've seen them spawn is in the SW corner of Undershore 1 at a time. Not sure what PHs are. Have killed maybe 15 or so of these, 1 drop.

You will definitely need to split time between east korlach, west korlach and corathus. they are scattered among that.

I ***may*** (note the may there... really... no promises... right! no promises!! not a guarantee!) reduce the amount of those skins needed because they are a bit rarer than I intended.

Not sure where these drop but in stoneroot falls there are a bunch of snakes high up on one of those stone pillars as your heading toward the Hive:-)

I got all the stone snake sheddings off those snakes (female darkhowllow xxxxxxxxx) on the plateau on stoneroot. It took multiple clearings over several hours but they do drop them.

Yea, I killed 10 of them so far and nothing yet.

I killed the snakes on top of the staligmite for some hours - they didnt drop a shedding for me however thats not saying that they dont drop it at all.

The 2 phs over time in creep coffed up my 5

The book that is the result is not flagged as needed for tradeskills.

Snapjaws are what dropped the 5 skins I needed Sand snake wise just seems their rare drop.

I have yet to find these 2 mobs, or any for that matter that drop the Stone Sheddings. Anyone have locs for these?

OR, are there other options for the Stone Sheddings?

The phs are hard to describe. They can spawn Slink and Slither, 2 named Silverfins. The only key is that they have different emotes when they aggro and when they die. Sorry, if you are on Bert, I could help you.

The only other option I found were the snakes on top of a pillar in Stoneroot. If you lev towards the Hive, the first Pillar you see has 8 dark blue con snakes on it. Not really easily soloable, but a fun break of a camp if you have a chanter and an SK maybe.

And after busting my butt to get my 5, it chaps...and i mean CHAPS me to have the requirement dropped to 2. Way to suck.

Thought I made some progress today but it seems that these books have multiple phases of treasure hunts. now what mobs have the serpent skin?

This may be a daft question, but exactly which two of the Silverfins are PH for named in Corathus please? Couldn't find any other reference to this either here or at Allakhazam. A /loc would be really helpful here =) Thankyou!
