Problem with Parts for Belfast

I will check the drop rate on 10 when I get back monday to make sure a mistake was not made on it. It was intended to be the same rarity.

That said.

the drops of these only depend on "race" and good and bad are the same race...

so... it can be either.... it is not good only.

I can confirm for definate, 10th scrap comes from the good guys.

By "10th scrap," do you mean the 10th one you got, or the final one on the list?

I believe alt-q lists them in order of item ID#.

I spent 3 days and prob 12+ hrs on this quest killing non-stop killing both "good" and "evil" green mechanical mobs. I got the 10th from a creeper reeper. My problem piece was Number 4 and another who was working on this quest problem piece was 9th. The problem is that like 1/10 to 1/15 mechanical monsters drop a piece and you have a 1/10 chance to get the piece you need, so it works exactly like the lotto. So it appears that things arn't dropping correctly but, I think since it is so random any piece can appear as a problem.

Just to throw this out because most people unless you have track seem to not know this. There's a creep reaper by himself close to the undershore entrance and the mindthralls. It's surrounded by like 10 Slithering Corunthis or whatever they are called. It has dropped scraps (haven't identified them) for me and a lot of the rare components for the tinkering combines. Could be a fluke, but maybe this one is the only one dropping a certain number.

Two things...

First, there's definately a RARE page. It contains the c, a and b for Mechanotablet. For those who use the ;tell bug, the item ID ends in "DD". I ran into at least 3 people who were all stuck looking for the same page.

(Sidebar: Having a single rare-drop page really messes up the whole quest. I would like to be able to compare scraps with someone else, help each other out. As it is, this thing can be cut-throat with KSing, perma-camping people refusing to respond to tells.)

Finally, umm... ok, dumb question... what's this quest DO? I started it because I want some of those new books. Is this the right quest?

COGN is the other rare piece. Just helped a friend do them last night and these were the last two. He had tons of the other ones but not these two.

The book is for the new augs. You need the book for the research combine (I think it's the ink?) as well as the mold for the holepoker. The final rewards are the box to make the mechainstructions and the AAAA which actually makes the new augs.

The 7th page was the rare piece for me, but then I got two in a row so that my druid could finish the task as well. By 7th, I mean the 7th counting down from the top in the task window.

4 hours of near non-stop killing of only Creep Reapers in Corranthus has resulted in 18 scraps, and only 8 or the 10 I need. After about 1:15 of 0 scraps I was about to log for the night when I got my 8th distinct one... I'm using the stacking method to tell which I have, so I'm not sure which two specifically I am missing. I do have 5 or 6 of a certain scrap though, and as little as 1 of a few of them. In the same time I have gotten the shield, Nogglegrop Fendlebar the Unwilling, which is a rare-ish drop I guess, and one of the new Mechanotablets for Improved Parry 3 I think, and some crappy boots from a named Creep Reaper which spawned at least 2x in 4 hours.

I very much doubt there is a single "rare" piece. However if a piece drops, you have a 1/10 chance of it being the one you need. It is just random distribution that makes one item come out after 30+ drops and one item which you get 1 in 5 times.

For me I'm stuck on number 6 I think, can't remember which one it is but in the lower half.

Shadowmane mobs are in Stoneroot, when you open your map they are in the far western section along the outer perimeter.

Man you guys are having good luck with the rare armor drops. Collected around 30 scraps for my druid just for fun and am at 9/10. I wish I had gotten a shield or something.

I've gotten at least one of each of the rare drops so far, FT3 caster belt (no drop), 10 ATK melee mask (no drop), evolving shield and evolving 2her (droppables).
