Problem with Parts for Belfast

I'm HIE Ench totally stuck at the part of quest where you have the task to buy the 'Spell Research Kit'. Bought it over and over, and still won't update the task.

Check closely.

Step 1 is to go buy the kit.
Step 2 is to go Hail bellfast.

Step 1 should update as soon as you get close to the merchant that sells the kit. (the specific merchant named in Step 1)

The task system itself does not have a way to "Update on buy" so it just assumes you will follow instructions now that you found the NPC and expects you to then got Back to Bellfast and Hail him.

So if there is a step 2 visible... go back to bellfast and Hail him.

If Step 1 has not updated, and no Step 2 is visible... try getting really close or stand IN that NPC... And note the name... there are two NPC's near each other with names that are almost exactly the same. The only difference bieing the roman numeral in the name.

Weird. I'm not getting any message at all now with the bread/wine. Not that the numbers have changed (used to be that even was good, odd was bad...or maybe the reverse.) Now, it just accepts the command (no "Invalid command" message) but returns no information. Just me?

When you tested this were you disconnected from the chat server at the time? You don't get any error messages then. I tested some wine last night with no problem. It is the first 6 digits btw, they are the hexidecimal representation of the item number in the database. So if you convert from hex to decimal (windows calculator will do this fairly painlessly) you can use the number to look up an item in Lucy.

When you tested this were you disconnected from the chat server at the time? You don't get any error messages then.

You know, that was probably it. I didn't even think about that, but the universal chat is up/down constantly...so it very well could have been down those times. I've tried it several different times in the past month or two...but you might have nailed it.

I believe Universal Chat is either the mail system, or inter-server chat(forget which). It definitely doesnt effect regular chat channels when it goes down. This still works, just tested it.

As best as I can tell, "universal chat" refers to the email system, not cross-server tells or channels. The name is a bit misleading.

While the ;t (item) trick can be considered sketchy, I feel it's justified in this case. That said, the order of the tasks given appears to correspond with the databse item IDs, so even if you forget which #s you have, you can check by the task window.

Also - for the the 2nd stage of the task, Bellfast's alt-q text says:

... The Creep Reapers and the other clockworks with them will not miss the parts!

I guess he wants us to kill his friends...

Faction Hit

I am new at Forum, mostly silently read before, but one things need to be corrected here! Sry. Info about hunting Gnomeworks was nice and useful about collecting Scraps. Get me fast to again 9/10, like info from Tread starter. Very fast, no way compare to Creeper Reapers. But... I stack on last one. And seems it like a lottery. So acording info from this tread i tryed differ mobs, like a rats, spiders, etc... Can confirm 100% they drop Scraps, but again i collect staks of same, but last one. More worse: Faction hits. Here i read about tonns killing and ALMOST ( Lol) no hit on faction. Less than hundred plus Prolly new named rat SCUTTLEBUCKET ( I submit info to Alakaz today .... seems i am first With new Boots dropped) i quickly went to Aprehen. And most Gnomes stop talk with me at all. Quest giver for key to Deathspires start attack me if I am hunt Super plated close to him. So plz don't be unaware about Faction hit. It hited and hited fast. Now heed start killing Reapers back to gain what i loose. And still no have last Scraps. Lottery!!!

I killed the one spider that is close to the top of the hill to the Creep Reeper area (that is close to the Belfast area) when collecting the Pinions and it had 2 scraps on it once. So spider models can also have scraps. Did this on my 70 Warrior.

When at the buying the research kit part you buy the kit from one merchant and actually hail a different merchant to get the task updated. I did this on a 57 Necro.

Made the mistake though of combining the pages in the kit before being told to.... You can not hand in the pre-completed pages and have them work.

I'm missing that elusive 10th part again (the one with C in it for Configuration) to do the pages a second time. So.... Don't pre-combine the scraps into pages before getting to that part of the task.

Still same, no luck, another day! Cant find last Scraps. No on Reapers, no on other MOBs. Plz! I find interesting moment here. Looks like mob drop particular Sraps like #1 #2 #3 .. etc.. in particular places, so killing same mob will stack them. I was rushing to do that so i not figure what number was in particular spot. But ppl who collect scraps trough task know, on screen you have 10 strings and when you loot matched Scraps strings highlighted. So i am still not loot not highlighted string at very top: looks like #1. If someone give it attention and remem where it was dropped, exact part of camp, plz reply!!!!

I'm having the same problem finding the 10th scrap also, after about 10 hours of killing the reepers. Interestingly, I've found 3 other people all in the same position, and we are all missing exactly the same scrap.

Either its not dropping, or I need to go kill the good guys, which I'd rather not do.

P.S. Still not have last one. Third day in Row. All 9 nine sraps, what i have alery, was relooted 3-5 time. I start loosing patience. Some more days and i will start Hate Coratus! Heh!

Yes! I do mix now! Reapers Rats Spiders and Gnomeworks! Reported to Alakaz 2 new Named. Seems on Bert no one see them. Result my multikilling for hours. I think it bugged. Maybe just a VERY BAD LUCK.

I had the same thing, I ae'd the creep reapers and then all the 328 clock works for like 4hrs and ended up with as many as 6 dupes of certain kinds and still missing 1 of the last type... ended up pushing kos faction so decided to stop and leave it there, haven't had a chance to go back since reapers seem to be perma camped.


btw what were those gnome quests mentioned? Would love either something else to do while doing these or some way to raise faction with 328 again.

I can confirm for definate, 10th scrap comes from the good guys.
