Nothing earth shattering to report - didn't manage to do a lot of testing and didn't find any recipes. BUT there are a bunch of new mushroom forages in the first two zones with tradeskill tags (only zones I got to). A few actually sounded like they might be edible but I didn't verify them.

Sorry I don't have anything more interesting tradeskill related to tell, but I can say that critters sure hit hard and I am not very good at switching between classes.

From what I saw, tinkering and spell research were the major tradeskills. I'm an alchemist by trade, and could only find a few recipes without the recipe books specifically for alchemy out. Orc illusions, and tinkering parts were all that I could come up with on my own

Not every tradeskill gets something every expansion. Alchemy and Poison Making got a really big boost a while back with augments, so if they get less attention this time around, and other skills that got little to no attention last time get lots of new stuff this go-around, just be happy for your fellow tradeskillers. And join in, since the non-restricted tradeskills are do-able by all, anyways!

Alchemists can be happy too. The research for GoD spells requires the Highland Sludge as far as I can tell.

I don't know if this is a permanent fixture of the expansion, but in the last few days, an othmir vendor was added to PoK, with what appears to be the entire inventory that has required a trip to Cobalt Scar in the past.

In Beta, many vendors are seen in PoK, selling tradeskill stuff so that folks can test recipes, that Othmir will probably wander back to CS when launch day arrives.

I just read something on another board talking about player made charms in DoDH. Supposedly, they require high skill levels in two or more tradeskills. Anybody seen or heard of these?

Still not adding much since I can't seem to find components to try stuff or time to actually test things.

The giver of the DoN tradeskill quests will have a new one where he will teach you to make runes to add power to the armor. The wood elf one wanted a big geode from Darkhollow in exchange for the book.

Tons of research stuff - lots of variations in ingredients, not sure how it works. At least 8 books of details and it sounds like you get to make your own inks and stuff. One of the early books mentioned ink of deepwater creatures, so if the recipes are useful it seems that Sirens Grotto may see a lot more visitors.

Many many arcane tinkering components - not sure of the items you make but part of it looked like it was involved in the spell research. Something looked like it might make augments.

There was a clockwork fletching vendor who sold what I think is a new book on making javelins. Last line in one of the descriptions said it is hard to fit the parts together and to expect about 50% failure (paraphrasing) - so maybe there is the path to 300 for fletchers now.

There was one book with food and beverage recipes of Darkhollow that seemed to suggest an alchemy recipe with shared ingredients.

Sorry I don't have more details - but then I am in the camp where part of the fun is discovering the recipes for the first time too.

I got the impression from the text that the alchemy recipe (the one listed in the food and drink book) was for illusion: orc. Just a guess, though.

I was able to make some minor stat food (not as good as what's currently available, but not bad) with 200 baking. The new truffles aren't that exciting, though.

I was able to make 'Grave Ale' or some such, which was another alcoholic drink, no stats.

I tried some of the tinkering stuff with mixed results. All I can confirm at this time is the holepuncher casing, which was in beta a 102 triv smithing combine (block of high quality steel, hinge mold, large container base mold, large container lid mold, superb leather padding). Otherwise, I was having some DNC troubles, don't know if it was me being a goof or the recipes not being quite ready yet.

I have a spell research write up in that forum and a little blip about javelins in the fletching forum. I'll do my best to do tinkering tomorrow.
