  • Now that you can legally window EQ...

Have you discovered that your toons are spending more time in the bazaar?

I'm rather happy with this new feature in that it lets me log a toon into the bazaar and then minimize EQ and work on my email.

I don't have the hottests of machines, so the internet is a bit laggy when I've got EQ going as well, but for simple stuff like looking things up or just banging out a few emails, I'm able to go along rather nicely.

I kinda suspect this might be part of the problem why the bazaar is filling up to max cap with traders more often all of a sudden - it's now no longer a burden for ANYONE to leave on a trader - thier computer is still available for email, homework, etc.
    Cigarskunk!
No more EQ for me till they fix the crash bug.

    Never a problem for me.
    I have 2 PC's...

And if needed, my wife also has a PC near me, and we have a (very) old laoptop that can get on the internet.

But, now I might be able to set up a second account (when I get a new second PC) and load EQ on that, have a second account, and just have a trader up 24-7!

Seems a lot more people are leaving Traders in the Bazaar now. Karana used to have about 300-350 Traders on average and since the patch it doesn't seem to go below 475. Everynight for the past week I've seen it at 500 (which is the current max).

Myself, I like to be able to log on a Trader and serf the boards. Kills two birds with one stone really since I only have one computer.

Cantatus, same thin on EMarr server...

I have a second account that I used to leave in the Bazaar almost all the time. I never saw 500 traders, now I see over 450 almost all the time.

I wonder if they even considered that at Verant... I know it was a surprise to me. hehe

Wonder what that will do to subscription costs? Consider that you just added 150 people per server X 20 or so servers = 3000 people ( approx )... online all the time. They all use bandwidth that wasn't being used before... someone's gotta pay for that.

          Will be interesting...

you are correct, we pay for it, about $13 dollars U.S. a month.

if they do anything along the lines of increasing the monthly charge, it'll make them lose accounts. There are already folks about to leave due to massive overnerfing. You don't spend a few YEARS working towards something sweet, just to have it nerfed when you finally get it, not to mention the $$ you've spent those few years.

I've also noticed huge lag spikes at the bazaar, all being added to the people who chain-cast spells, constantly /ooc WTB/WTS/WTT >insert some common item< etc..

It was so bad this morning that the bazaar crashed (and on Kane Bayle, there is on average 150-300 ppl selling, I think there was 400+...)

I think this is one reason that they're in a hurry to get the server-side filter in place. It'll help cut down on the traffic that needs to be sent out to player computers, and I would guess, will make it a little easier to keep the zone stable.
Of course, if they'd do something about the casinos, that alone would deal with half the problem.

At least we don't see bards running around anymore with that <self-censored> food and water song of theirs anymore in the Bazaar. Now if I could just get rid of it everywhere else...

My computer isn't able to run in the new window mode, upon clicking alt + enter EQ goes into a window but the screen is black, alt + enter to get out of the window, still a black screen, had to edit my ini file ot get out of window mode so that I could log back in after having to shut off the computer to get out of EQ. Can't figure out why, only thing I can come up with is because my graphics card is so old

Laureana, mine takes a while (up to a minute) to go into the windowed mode when I pressed Alt-Enter. Are you giving it enough time?

sorry, but that's part of the game, maybe not what the dev team intended, but it's part of the game just the same.

while were at it, why don't we just get rid of all the traders in the bazaar. then they kei casters. then all the tradeskillers.

Man, get a life, EVERYONE has know that zones with alot of folks in it lags, DEAL WITH IT.

the ONLY way to "Do something about the casinos" would be remove the RNG, which ain't gonna happen.

                        Sir0die,

No need to be so hostile. He doesn't like the casinos and is free to state his opinion without someone jumping on him. Everyone, contrary to what Sony thinks, DOES NOT run a super jacked up pc and lag is worse for some folks then others. No one likes lag. Before I got my new pc it use to take me 10 minutes to get to the vendor that sells Celestrial Solvent and buy 10 stacks and get back out of the bazaar. Anything done to lower the lag = a good thing in my opinion.

If you don't like bards for the simple reason of them playing songs where you might just catch their messages, why don't you turn of bard messages? If you don't like their song effects, why don't you turn them of? If you don't like to play with them, just never group with one.

Do not go around messageboards saying they should be gotten rid of. :P

Been pretty much the same for me. I was using eqw long before sony put in what I consider to be inferior to the original.

Ilona ~ I let it sit for a few minutes (3 or so) thinking my comp was just slow but it didnt work. After switching out of window mode I end up with a black screen also, only way to get out of the game was to turn off the computer manually. Then I couldn't log back into the game because EQ was stuck in window mode somehow (even though it did appear to go out of window) so I had to edit the line in my ini file :?
