  • Solstice Earring level

Not sure if it was brought up, but I never really knew 100% certain the answer.

Magelo reports the level effect of the solstice earring as 44 for the FT to work.

Heh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info; I've been collecting/making the 9 gifts in preparation for the sacrifice, and I'm only 43. Guess I should xp grind for something besides new spells now.

      Solstice

Works for me at 38. Seen reports elsewhere at least as low as 20, so it probably works at level 1.

Well, I got my Xanthe's Earring at 43 as a druid(I didn't hand it in immediately to get the Earring of Solstice because I liked the stats better; now I have both earrings at 46 ).

It has the Circle of Combines effect on it. I could not use the effect(but could still equip the earring of course). As soon as I dinged 44, I could use the effect.

People may be assuming the FT on the other earring(since they are tied together) doesn't work until 44 also. I haven't bothered to time my mana regen with and without the FT earring. KEI is good enough.

My experience has been that (worn) effects work if you can equip the item, while (cast) effects are level-limited. YMMV

The "effect level" has a few uses.

First, it determines at what level the item casts the spell. Yes, it turns out that sow potions are L 25 shaman sow!

Second, on procing weapons or clicky items, it determines what level the item will proc or click.

On (worn) items, the item simply works.

Doh... As a bard there are few FT items My main can use. And i thought the FT effect wasn't good till 51 so hadn't bothered with this one yet. Looks like next time i log on I will have to hit bazaar and check prices.

PS. Molto Has retired. EQ2 has lured core group away.

I quit the game I loved because it wasn't anymore. Guilds allowing farmers in because they could do a lot of damage in raids.
SoE not really doing anything about farmers, macroquesters ect.
Still Some of my favorite times spent online happened in Norath. The friends and mobs I remember fondly.
