  • upgrading gm don armor

i think, i read a dev statement around here, that they will give don gm armor a tiny boost - especially to those pathetic armbands. (i made 1 by umm... lets say accident :-)) this statement was a couple of month ago though and i cant find the post anymore. so i wonder, if anyone have some information if they still going to do it.

I beleive the improvement has been implemented when they allowed slot 9 crystal augs to go into slot 12.

i seem to remember somebody from the last fan fair posting stuff about talking with absor and madock ( i think it was them anyway ) about tradeskill stuff. one thing metioned was how the GM armor compaired to other pieces. and some of the pieces were lacking compaired to the other suits of armor. it was something that was going to be looked into. but my guess is that it is a low priority, so it is still comeing up. just not very likely to happen soon.

          GM tailored armours

Agree, - I remember looking at AC/stats on some of the GM tailored armours a while ago and thinking "why bother, no one at the appropriate/required level would wear that".

I'm assuming you must be a raider, or are not a leather class. For my beastlord, the chest and legs are the best piece of armor that is easily obtainable. They are superior to DON chest and legs, and the AC is higher. Beyond the chest and legs, the pieces get more maginal all the way. The AC on all the pieces are better than DON armor at the sacrifice of more and more hp as you go down the line. At the dead rock bottom, you find the bracers, which are *cough* ok *chough* when compared to ornate bracers.

As to the original question, some of the tradeskill people discussed issues with the devs at the latest fanfair, and pointed out various discrepancies between the GM armor and other armor. Specifically mentioned were the bracers. The devs agreed that the numbers looked a bit low on some of the items and said that they would look into it in the future. It wasn't something they could adjust as easily as adding slot 9 to DON augments, and it might take some time to address. I'd look for some adjustments in DOD.

He said some... not all. And the discussion was about wristbands... I doubt anyone will deny that the GM chest and leg pieces are the best tradeable gear in the game.

As an example of the shoddier pieces though, GM Starglow Wristbands with GM wrist aug have 50 hp/mana. DoN purchased wristbands have 115/115.

Granted the Starglow have +1 mana regen (and also 15 attack though High Elf int casters don't get much use out of that), but its not really worth the tradeoff in stats.
