GM Fletching Trophy - Not Viable Fletching Path

Well, in desperation to finally get over 282 skill in fletching, I tried the Grandmaster's Fletching Knife as a skill-up path:

With dex of 450, I got the following:-
Base Skill = 282
No of Combines = 60
Successes = 52
Fails =8
Skillups = Zero

I'd secretly hoped they had implemented the 'increased chance of skill-up' for all GM Trophies without telling us, but from the looks of it, they haven't.

Around 300kpp?

If all gems are vendor farmed (i.e. not looted or bazaar bought), 60 attempts can be done in around 208k pp.

I did 10 trophy attempts for tailoring at 298 skill, hoping to confirm that trophies can yield skillups. But I did not see a skillup during those 10 attempts so I still cannot prove it. Now that I finally made 300 tailoring, I don't think I'll try it for fletching since it'll be even harder to prove that trophies can yield a skillup with a Difficulty = 4 tradeskill.

Let me put it this way, if you find yourself buying Velium Hound Furs at 700 pp each for cloak attempts, it's cheaper to do trophies.

I was buying Velium Hound Furs at 600 to 800 each for cloak attempts until I realize trophy attempt is 3440 pp each while Velium Hound Cloak attempt is 3535 pp each if each Fur averages 700 pp.

(Nowadays on my server, Velium Hound Furs are never lower than 900 pp and Othmir Furs are never lower than 1200 pp in bazaar. Cloak makers simply cannot compete with Cap makers for bazaar prices.)

Trophies can indeed yield skillups. I remember I skilled up pottery from 240 to 241 back in the day on my trophy. I somehow doubt that they'd change the skillup chance on them considering they're not really a sellable/rare item.
