  • Success rate?

I've used the search function, but just can't find it even though I know it should be here somewhere: the Success Rate Formula.

I'd like to find out what chance of success my cleric has at a GM bp/legs (380 triv) with her current skill (280) and trophy (5%). And what would her chance of success be if she were to gain smithing mastery 1, or an extra 10, 20 skill?

Only the skillup formula seems to be posted

Doh! Never mind, I found it on the main site as a calculator!

Perhaps it would be a good idea to post the expected difficulties of the different skills on the same page with the notes? Would save having to go forwards and backwards between messageboard and site.

I've been doing some skillup lately and it seems like the game already takes care of skillup rate for you. If a combine is yellow (within +50 of your modded skill) or lower, you have a 95% chance to make it. If it's red, subtract 1% for every point above 50 the combine is (not factoring in masteries).

That is what I had thought, but as far as I can tell, the stickies in this forum are:
Sticky: Meeting with Maddoc and Absor at the Fan Faire
          Sticky: skillup formula
Sticky: Database changes for Fishing and Foraging
Sticky: The Near Future of Tradeskills

It's not the skillup formula I was looking for, and that thread doesn't have a success rate formula.
However, the point is mute, since I found what I was looking for on the main site

Phantron: very handy way of thinking of it! Thanks!

                Ouchy....

                233 + 50 = 283, 386 - 103...

                95 -103 = -8%, no wonder I failed those leggings.

                  280*1.05 - .75*(380) + 51.5 = 294 - 285 + 51.5 = 60.5%

Every skillup gives you an additional percent....so, 10 skill = 70.5%, 20 = 80.5%. Mastery 1 would give you 64.45%, 2=70.375%, 3=80.25%. All of these are then at the will of the particular recipe's min/max success chance. The min is probably 5%...the max is unknown at this time.
