Are the nerfs for Shadow Scream, Sickles, Othmir, Holgresh, etc comming this week (June 22)? I seem to remember Absor saying that the changes in trivials were going to be experimented on test first. Have they been changed on test yet? There's a bunch of stuff I'd rather be doing this week than making sickles and stuff.

Speaking from past experience.....since you know nerf is incoming - expect it to happen in next patch. If it doesn't, and you're not 300 yet, be happy - its better than expecting it a couple patches away and getting hit early.... =)

Not that I have any faith in Absor, but here is what he has said before:

      1) Changes will happen on Test server first. So far nobody has reported any changes there.

      2) The rare items with up to 50% chance of skill up will go into effect before trivials get "smoothed out"

If he lives up to that then tommorow should be a safe patch for tradeskillers.

Assume the worst, that there will be changes in trivials tomorrow, and don't stock up on ingredients with plans to skill up after patch. (I don't have secret infoz, this is just my pessimism, assume trivials will be nerfed, it's safer)

The patch has been postponed one day until Thursday, June 23rd. One more day of nail biting.

Test server has been down since yesterday afternoon, so there isn't mcuh time left to test more changes.

Don't count on necessarily getting those reports from Test. We don't have a whole lot of high level tradeskillers, and most of the ones that we do have don't post here. Splunge was the main person from Test who experimented with the tradeskills, and he doesn't play anymore. If I run across something, I post it here, but I don't go out of my way to do annoying farm camps just to see if some updates have gone in yet.

If you're on test, you don't need to go out and make this stuff to test it. All you have to do is check your smithing and tailoring UI (provided you've made one of the things before). It'll tell you what the new trivial is.

                  *sigh*

Presume the worst. Always. Trivials will fall on your favorite combines. Do them now.

                  1) They won't get HIGHER in trival.

                  2) When they drop the prices you can sell them for will as well. (Sell NOW if you can, but smart buyers will already be holding off. The competition to sell off Solstice Earring kits on my server has the prices down almost 20 percent in the last few weeks.)

                  3) Murphy's Law always applies, unless you attempt to reverse apply it. (You don't like your mother-in-law so you use the "toast always lands butter side down" theory, it will land butter side up.)

                  4) Remember -all- the warning we had from Test and the devs about the tailoring changes?

                  5) My favorite quote of all time...

Whineplay: Why can't we have "do once only" quests with high EXP rewards?
Abashi: We don't have the ability to store that kind of information on characters.

Now I'm not saying that the changes WILL happen, and certainly NOT that SOE reps have (repeatedly, almost continually) been wrong if not OUTRIGHT DECEPTIVE about things, but I'd go with 'better safe than sorry' on this one. Or are you NOT haunted by the tormented screams of the darned (tailors) to this day?
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

'While we were generally encouraged to save tradeskill topics until the Tradeskill panel at Fan Faire, I was fortunate enough to find myself seated at the same table as Maddoc for dinner and I was able to get some information as to some of what he and Absor are planning. In the next patch some of the first modified skill-up rate changes will go in with some high trivial combines offering 10-15% skill-up chances with the possibility for higher skill-up recipes to be added soon.

As soon as he has time (I heard he actually left work before midnight once last week!), he plans to go over other potential recipe lines to look into adjusting trivials and increasing skill-up rates. I suggested raising the trivial on magnetic armor for smithing and Murkglider for tailoring to provide paths to 300 for both skills.

He also gave a warning that we could expect to see some recipes such as shadowscream, othmir armor, and mistletoe sickles to have their trivials lowered to be more in line with the power of the item created.'
Taken from Gemdiver's write up at:
                    http://eq.crgaming.com/viewarticle.asp?Article=8993

This is where everyone is getting the idea that the trivials will be lowered and soon. Personally I took it to mean most likely this next patch so I bit the bullet and did sickles. If the trivials don't get lowered then great, but really I am just glad my Smithing is done

Now just tailoring holds me back from the 2100 Club

<Pessimism mode> That's just so they can get more recipes nerfed before they finally push the patch to live servers. </Pessimism mode>

Nah, I'm assuming it's the problems with Time that are holding it off. People are having horrible lag problems in the new instanced zones. We had some people with lag so bad they literally couldn't play.

might be with time. Our guild cleared p1 and no mobs where up in our instanced. We got a reply back from a GM who said they were messing with it while we were it in and erased our instance, sorry it's ok now for the guild who does it the next day on your server.. bah!!!

I sure hope they dont "erase" all the combines I have been doing.
