success = better chance for skill up? site calculator says no
As I don't play a melee, I've always been using INT or WIS as my primary stat to skillup. After seeing this "no minus 15" for STR or DEX statement from Tanker's notes, I just realized that for a character maxed at 255 stats (i.e. below lvl 60), it is better to use STR (for smithing) and DEX (for fletching) even for INT and WIS classes.
It may make less of a difference to smithing since it is a Difficulty 2, but it will make a bigger difference to fletching with its Difficulty 4.
I am planning to lower my INT or WIS to 250 and raise my STR or DEX to 255 to do smithing and fletching on characters below lvl 60. Is this the correct way to go?
So the "WIS / INT / STR (no minus 15)" in Tanker's notes should actually read "WIS (no minus 15) / INT (no minus 15) / STR (no minus 15)". Same for the DEX version.
And the "May Use Alternate Stat" Check Box on the Calculator page is refering to the "tradeskill being done", not the "stat type being used".
